Bono's Pit Bar-B-Q

On August 9, we decided we were gonna have Bono’s for dinner. My wife ordered me a salad no tomato, no onions, no peppers and my wife ordered a turkey sandwich with beans, my wife ordered extra ranch and the lady on the phone told us it came with three I told my wife that’s fine and told us it would be ready for pick in about 15 minutes. We go pick up the order, Drive home and guess what? No salad dressing with our Order. So here I see it at the house with no salad dressing and a salad with no dressing, I called because this hasn’t been the first time this has happened but I never called. My fault. and I should have. So I was calling this time to complain. Make a long story short if you ever have an issue don’t bother calling all you’re gonna get is I’m sorry and that’s all they’re gonna do for you.
Lesson learned.
One star given only because there was no effort in making things right.

Had a great experience at Bono’s barbecue. Kayla provided great timely service and was fun, friendly. She also had great recommendations from the menu to try. What a nice dinner choice for the experience, taste and money.

Good ol Bono’s. You know what tier bbq it is and why you’re there. Ask which meats are good for the day. Good service and tea. Perfect for lunch.

Food is consistent even though it’s not prepared onsite. Just make sure you check your to go order..last three times it was wrong, seriously wrong. No we didn’t call because it’s a drive.

First time trying this, I ordered the ribs with two sides, mac and cheese and potato salad, the ribs were cooked perfectly and fell off the bone, they had a good Smoky flavor and were still moist. Moist. The potato salad was actually very, very good, but the mac and cheese was way too simple and lacked unique flavor. Flavor. Personally wasn't a fan of their barbecue sauces, they had a a weird flavor to it. That was off-putting to me, might be great for others but not my taste

I don't know what is all the rave about this dump. They must have family and friends writing reviews for them. The food was cold and bland. They don't check the bathrooms because they were dirty. I had to clean my own table. But then I noticed that people were not using gloves when dealing with the food. I just threw the food away I will not be going back. What a disappointment. Also the employees look sad or worried. I wonder how they're actually being treated. If the employees are drinking on the job and smoking in the back and come in then don't wash their hands or wear gloves when handling food, it sets up a very unhygienic unsanitary situation. The health department should check in on this place.

Ordered for pick up a few weeks ago and the receipt was correct. When we brought it home it was the wrong order packaged. We called to rectify the situation and was offered a refund of my salad and was told it would be refunded that night by the manager, who was supposed to get on the phone to handle the situation initially and didn't. It has been 3 weeks and still no refund. This is the second time this has happened where we ordered and the wrong order was placed in our bag. It's 35 minutes there and back to get the order, so no, I don't want to waste my time and gas to pick up something that doesn't take too many brain cells to put together. And why wasn't my money refunded? This is by far the worst bonos in Jacksonville.

Ordered a side of small corn nuggets for $5 extra and they gave me an order of 1/2 nuggets attached to a kids meal worth $1 extra. Pointed it out to the cashier and she apologized, but didn’t give me the amount I paid for. This location has to do better.

I am coming back to edit my review as the owner who responded to my post has zero common sense. As an owner I am surprised by the unprofessional response. You’re loud and wrong. I ordered a kids meal for my 4 year old son and added a side of small corn nuggets for myself. The nuggets were NOT for my KIDS MEAL. I never told the cashier I wanted to attach the order to my KIDS MEAL. Your poor customer service and common sense is pathetic.

Went there a few months ago. Brisket was dry. Food was okay. Not worth the price.

Oh snap, this place has the best brisket I've ever had in my life. I love it I've been all over the country and hands down the best anywhere. The bark seasoning flavor is so on point there's no chance I could have ever put any sauce on this brisket. And then to top that off that baked beans and the coleslaw were next level. Love this place can't wait to try it again.

Bonos is terrible. I ordered to go at night, when I got home, The food was cold. And they gave us the wrong order, when I called and notified them they had the ordacity to say bring the order back the next day (how unsanitary). I took a picture to prove one of the meals was wrong along with my receipt. They did not care and wasn't willing to replace my meal for the inconvenience. The manager basically didn't believe me and gave a sarcastic remark. So cheap and unprofessional. Needless to say I won't ever order from there again.

Sweet tea was on point but it stopped there. Asked for fries extra crispy that came out very soft and not crispy. Waitress didn’t even come by the table once after my food arrived until it was time to bring check. $. 50 for 1 slice of cheese on a chicken sandwich that was dry to begin with doesn’t make sense to me. Will not return. Sonny’s does it much better

My family was in Bono’s on Duval station on April 3rd for lunch. Food was outstanding i had a Chargrilled Chicken sandwich with collards.My kids had Turkey everyone was very happy with their food . Service from our server Jessica was prompt and courteous . Multiple drink refills with a smile. Will definitely dine at this location again.

Stopped by for lunch yesterday and the food and service was EXCELLENT! My server Jessica was very friendly and attentive. Will be making this location a go to.
