Chancho King isn't just an incredible restaurant for Ecuadorian cuisine — it's a true neighborhood gem that stands out even in Jacksonville's diverse culinary landscape. This family-owned establishment perfectly captures the essence of what makes Ecuadorian food so special: simple preparations that showcase exceptional ingredients and masterful flavor combinations.
Every dish that comes out of their kitchen demonstrates genuine craftsmanship. The flavors are clean, authentic, and beautifully balanced, proving that great cooking doesn't need to be complicated—it just needs to be done with skill and care. From perfectly seasoned meats to vibrant sauces and traditional preparations, each plate tells a story of culinary tradition executed with precision.
What truly sets Chancho King apart, however, is the warmth of the owners. Their genuine friendliness and welcoming spirit make every visit feel like you're being invited into their home. They're passionate about sharing their culture through food, and it shows in every interaction and every lovingly prepared dish.
In a city full of dining options, Chancho King offers something genuinely special: authentic Ecuadorian cuisine prepared with heart, served by people who truly care about their guests' experience. Whether you're already familiar with Ecuadorian food or looking to try something new, this restaurant deserves a spot at the top of your list.

This place sold me a burger it was raw and i got food poisoning from like 2 bites before realizing. Also run by rude hipsters
*if you’re allergic to shellfish let them know*
Food was delicious, but went with my family and we are all very allergic to shellfish. We did not order any shellfish, but had allergic reactions. I *assume* from cross contamination. I told the waitress and she said to make sure to let them know before we order (which I understand) but assumed they adhere to the same standards of cross contamination as other restaurants. Probably won’t go back but it was tasty.

Have supported the business since they were a food truck outside aardwolf and plenty of times at RAM. However, I’ve had two bad encounters with the orange beanie employee. Seems to lack basic customer service qualities, looked irritated when I was confused over what “carne” actually meant, and was not courteous when giving us our drink or food. Good customer service is not difficult and those two incidents make me not want to support the business any further. A simple thank you or how is everything goes a long way.

If you're not eating at this place you are missing out. You are doing a disservice to yourself and if you're not bringing friends your doing a disservice to them.
This is some of the best food in Jacksonville. It's Ecuadorian cuisine cooked like you were at someone's home. Every meal feels like a home cooked meal, cooked with love and fresh. The pork is phenomenal, the rice is phenomenal, the lentils are phenomenal, the plantains are phenomenal. And the Agua Fresca is just my absolute favorite every time I go there cuz it's something different. I can't say enough about this place. I got to be mad at yourself if you don't stop here for a taste.

I've been meaning to come here since I work down the street and now upset with myself for not coming sooner. The empanadas are different then what im use to come in a korn mesa instead deep fried dough like im use to sea salt and aioli of some kind.. its just amazing then I had a pulled pork sandwich with chicharrones in it. Give a nice crunch and the pickled red onions spot on.. good price and good natural light that comes in

Went here to try new food. I loved the menu set up. I ordered a chorizo sandwich. Best sandwich ever!!! So delicious. I was not expecting the amazing taste! Loved the atmosphere and the plantain chips that came with your sandwich. Only $7 per sandwich. Great prices. We will be back.
The workers were helpful and asked how everything was. Rice was good too

Fantastic everything. Small dining area, do not bring 14 of your friends at once. Bring them in 3 at a time every day instead!

I love this place. It has such a Brooklyn vibe right here in Jacksonville. The food is amazing. I have been 2 times and not disappointed. Even my daughter loves it and she is a little picky. I recommend the sandwiches, the Yucca cheese balls, champagne fried chicken (late night) and the burger.
