We visited Cinco de Mayo on a Saturday night in downtown Jacksonville. It is a large establishment and plenty of seating. The hostess wasn't very friendly and acted like we were putting her out. She was a bit better as our waitress. The margaritas were amazing and every one who came to our table asked if everything was OK.
Unfortunately the food was not very good. The Carne Asada looked boiled there was no char to the meat. The chimicanga was greasy, I ate the shrimp out of it. The rice had no flavor and the beans were pureed and horrible. I would never recommend this place unless you're just having drinks, chips and salsa.

My family & I used to eat at this restaurant before they moved to their newest location & the food was yummy. We stopped going there. Today we went back. My personal opinion: The atmosphere & service was great but the food was just absolutely gross. We will never go back there! We will continue go back to Cantina Louie, now their food is yummy 😋

I’m from Texas so obvi my standards for Mexican food are high. Simply put, the food is not good. And it’s disappointing because the location is fantastic and the atmosphere is impressive. The service and the staff are the best in class! If it weren’t for actual food, I want to give this place ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ so badly! maybe I’m ordering the wrong thing🤷♀️? Let me know! I’m open!

My first visit to this location. The GM, Willie, has a very nice location. Our server was very pleasant. Three of us ordered taco salad. Mine was so good there was nothing left on my plate. Cinco de Mayo restaurant owners have a great reputation for good food prepared quickly and great quality.

This place has THE BEST salsa in all of Jacksonville. Do t miss their other locations. I am a regular and often buy the salsa to go.

The food was amazing but when I ordered I asked for Mexican style with red onions, cilantro, etc for my tacos and got American style instead that only came with cheese and lettuce

We walked in while it was slow. 9:15pm on a Tuesday night, they made us wait for a table to be bussed and sat us at a different table which made no sense to me. Now, I wasn’t quite so hungry, here is my main problem, the cheese dip ranchero (which is basically queso and beef) that should be more like 7-8 max, not $11 plus tax. We are all trying to make life work. Let’s be reasonable.
Food is consistent, last time I got a burrito and the sour cream was all at one end, pretty minor. The salsa is a bit runny. Its close to home so we'll be back.

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in Jax in my opinion! I have an autistic son who is very picky about food. He ordered the cheeseburger and fries and did not like the burger at all. He loves shrimp but fried. Being a Mexican restaurant they do not have fried shrimp. He tried it grilled and LOVED IT! Thank you so so much for all of your help with finding something that my son would love on this bust Father's Day! Thank y'all again from your amazing staff at this amazing restaurant!! Y'all Rock!!!

We have heard good things about this place and decided to finally try it. My queso birria was so salty I couldn't eat it. The food was nothing special. The server checked in on our party of 7 once and disappeared. We were done with our meals and flagged her down for boxes. Our check never arrived. My husband stood for 10 minutes maybe and finally was able to flag the waitress down for the check. I can say we probably will never return.
