Fong's Chinese Restaurant

I’m sharing this review to say that i am highly disappointed in it the new management. I usually come here for lunch and pay $8 for my meal. The photo on the left was the old owners; the $8 meal, the photo on the right (with the 2 containers) is from the new management and this was $18. This is unacceptable. They give you less food for more money. And not to mention that the food doesn’t have the same quality taste. The meat tastes bad. I will not be eating here again.

Unfortunately I used to love fongs and came regularly in the past, but far too much has changed. Prices have doubled and portions are way smaller. Not good anymore not worth the money, overpriced for the portions. I came here because they were affordable and fed my family for an extremely fair price with very large portions but this is no longer the case. They were one of my favorite close restaurants. The guy at the front desk and who answers the phone is amazing super sweet and great at his job as he has always been there and still is but the new owners have made this place somewhere I will no longer go.

Overpriced and prices have doubled, portions have changed and are far smaller, and the food is not nearly as good anymore. No longer worth the money or time.

Food is great. Cooked to order. Not under some dam light. Will definitely be back. Yummy and 😋. Highly recommended

Adding to my review Wednesday 3-4-26. It's been a year since I ordered food from Fong's. But this day was extremely disappointing I had the sesame chicken. Disgusting it was like stuck together. This is the only way I could describe the texture. It was terrible. I kept it for my dear doggie. I was so excited coming from Georgia to Jacksonville just for the food. Maybe they have a new cook. I definitely won't be back when I return to Jacksonville. I will have to Google the best Chinese restaurant.

So sad, after being a customer of this establishment since they opened decades ago, Im saddened to hear they are retiring and moving on. Another entity will be moving in. They close the doors Saturday, Feb 28. We will miss you !!!! Best wishes on your retirement, you definitely earned it and have left your mark on this little corner of Jacksonville !

The person we ordered from, over the phone, was SUPER helpful and friendly!! The food is a total miss. Completely flavorless. The lo mein is just spaghetti with an essence of soy sauce. The crab ragoon is just straight cream cheese. It's almost like the sauces are watered down. Do not recommend :/

This is the worse Chinese food in Jacksonville the fry rice was hard and bland so was the chicken in garlic sauce how can Chinese food be this bland

This excellent place is my absolute favourite to get Chinese takeaway! Been a customer for a few months now and just remembered to leave a review.

Food is *streets ahead* compared to other restaurants like China Dragon and Zen Dumpling. Fong's has a really home-cooked meal style meets restaurant-quality customer service and preparation. All their dishes have an amazing flavour that you simply must try.

The dining room is a bit under-decorated, but don't let that fool you!

Ken is an excellent front-of-house manager. Great energy, ordertaking and very welcoming to customers.

All-in-all, I'd give Fong's Chinese Restaurant a 5/5 stars! Definitely give them some business if you're in the Baymeadows, Town Center or Atlantic/Jax Beach areas!

Forget the other reviews about the Honey Chicken, those people simply have no class. The chicken was tender and the sauce was perfection. I ordered from Fong’s with zero expectations on a bad day and this put a smile on my face. Best Chinese food that has ever graced my taste buds, 10/10.

Best chinese in the area, amazing lunch specials!

Food is delicious, cheap, and they give you enough for 3 people. Family owned just a mom and dad with their son. Son works the front and is extremely polite and double checks all orders to ensure no mistakes. I can’t recommend this place enough this is the type of the place you tip big because the food is so cheap but good and the service is A+.

Great food every time I order from here. The process are fair and the portions are large. I will definitely be ordering again.

The young man working the front counter is on point with making sure you get your food correctly. He is very friendly and provided great customer service.
