Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

Ordered a banana shake to consume a vanilla shake with frozen banana slices at the bottom as hard as ice.

My friend raves on Freddy’s smashed steak burgers and skinny fries, I had to try them! I got the California style combo. I didn’t know there were extra sauces available! My fav was the smoked fry sauce. I enjoyed it!

Each bite of burger was tasty, cheesy, and meaty! I would have liked more lettuce on my burger. Make sure to download their app for a sign up freebie!

Gotten their food about twenty times now have not had a single order that didn’t have a issue or they send you packets instead of a Togo bottle because DoorDash will just give them the money gone through a couple times to the building and have been severely let down food has good greasy protential but their building and service are kinda like McDonald’s but at least McDonald’s can get me what I pay for food wise would highly recommend not dining here

So the food itself was great and everyone was friendly, but they advertise a Chicago Hot Dog but its not actually a Chicago hot dog, its not served on a sesame bun nor do they have the peppers or celery salt. They also said the hot dog was just a all beef hotdog, I didnt bother asking if it was a Vienna hot dog like advertised...just very disappointed

Their signature turtle sundae is to me the American dessert. I turned around and thanked the Lord.

They make a good preservative free hamburger.

I miss the McDonald’s fry. The seasoning and sauce remind me of In-N-Out. The food can be messy. I wish they were more clear on their intention towards customers. I am thankful they like to be unique and provide unique, really decent option.

Although Freddy's has positive reviews and appealing marketing, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The nearly empty parking lot should have been a warning. Upon entering, we were met with an unpleasant smell—a mix of cleaning chemicals and mustiness. Despite this, my hunger pushed me to proceed. The cashier appeared disheveled and was difficult to understand. After placing our order, I glanced into the kitchen while at the soda machines and noticed dirty, cracked floors and messy counters. The food was prepared quickly, but we were surprised by the extremely thin French fries, which tasted just okay. I ordered a patty melt that was passable, while my granddaughters and their friend had chicken fingers and sandwiches. The hot chicken sandwich was underwhelming, but the worst offender was the chicken fingers. My 7-year-old immediately lost her appetite when the breading came off in one piece. Upon tasting the chicken, I found it slimy and rubbery. She ended up eating a few bites of my burger instead. Our four meals totaled $62.00, which was far from worth it. I had to use the restroom but could not bring myself to go in what I presumed would be an unpleasant experience. Overall, the place felt dirty, outdated, and unappetizing.

Man where do I begin, for sure mixed feelings about this place!!! I’m actually reporting my entire experience live from my bathroom .. peep the time stamp on the photos; 😫😫🙄

I was extremely excited to try this place after picking up a DoorDash delivery and while the service was excellent given the circumstances I have to say I have a lot of issues fundamentally!!!

Let’s begin with the price point to portion size!! OUTRAGEOUS … for 30.00 (I redeemed a discount code online which made my total 24.00 instead of 30.00 but you get the point) : I got one combo (which included a milkshake), a side of tots and a second milkshake for my nephew 🤯 Compare that to steak and shake and you will never look back!

My second issue was the milkshakes aren’t actually made with ice cream .. rather their “frozen custard” which unfortunately leaves very little time to drink before getting warm (by the time I’d gotten home from this location to my apt right next to the Wawa less than 1 mile away it was no good) ALSO Idk what’s in the custard exactly but it ran through me faster than ANY Taco Bell ANYTHING I’ve ever ordered 😫 I literally could barely finish my meal before running to the bathroom bubbling like a witches cauldron (and this was my first meal of the day)!!!!!

Third I looked in my bag before leaving and noticed my medium tots container was only 1/2 full.. which the team dropped another bag and apologized with an upgraded tot .. HOWEVER I noticed that the man cooking had pre portioned baggies of tots .. meaning it wasn’t his fault THE COMPANY pre portioned 8/9 tots but they DID double it just to make me happy .. this is one of those fundamental issues where Freddys as a corporation wants to charge the most money but give as little as possible!!!!

Ultimately, my opinion is this is a fast food place basically wanting to act and charge as if they are a upscale diner when it gives very much slightly below Chic-fil-A’s level of ambiance;

The “fry sauce” & “smoked fry sauce” is basically Mac sauce and spicy Mac sauce.. I opted for regular ketchup!! The tots and burger was pretty good so overall I’m not angry, just disappointed with the experience overall BUT I wanted to try something new right?🤦🏾‍♀️🫣

OVERALL don’t fix what isn’t broken : Go to steak & shake .. you’ll get DOUBLE the food for 1/2 the price with the quality being equal (food) if not better (shakes) …

SHOUT OUT TO the STAFF : specifically Ash & Val …they ALONE are why I gave them the 2 stars that I did because they answered all my questions the best they could with a deep level of kindness!!!! They are clearly doing the best they can on the front line with guests representing a very “questionable” at best company…

UPDATE: after writing and uploading this entire review I noticed my nephew didn’t even finish his milkshake (he is 9yrs old) when asked he said he preferred steak and shake.. it’s not bad just tastes like really sweet strawberry milk🤦🏾‍♀️🙄
