Gator's Dockside Oakleaf

Gators- a well known family sports bar and grill with a lack of customer service. We sat for 10 minutes before I got up to ask another server who our server was. She graciously said she would help us. Tonya, you're amazing and deserve a raise. The epitome of customer service. For the rest of the servers that looked our way but never acknowledged us, shame on you. This was not a busy time. Food was over cooked though Tonya handled this as well. This will not be our first choice for date night again. Spend the money and take it somewhere else.

I brought my 88 year old Grandma to lunch at Gator’s Dockside in Oakleaf. As I was assisting her to the front door, we were greeted by the hostess, Alexia, who opened the door for us. She also pulled the chair out at the table for my Grandma when she sat us. Little gestures like that really make a big difference. Then our waitress, Megan, was great. She made recommendations for Grandma’s meal to make it more accommodating and easier for Grandma to handle. (Removing the 3rd piece of bread from the club sandwich to make it smaller for Grandma, which was helpful!) She was very attentive, and kept our drinks full. The food was delicious, and came out quickly. We will definitely be back, and appreciate the great service.

The food was great, especially the deep fried green beans. The sweet tea was too sweet, but since I had water, no problem. The waitress was really friendly, and checked on us every time she walked by.
It was two days before Christmas and no Christmas shows on the many TV sets surrounding the room. I would have liked to have been able to watch something other than just sports. A nod to the season is not compromising the integrity of your sports bar, in my opinion.

I had a very disappointing experience. I was served a drink in a damaged cup, which started leaking shortly after. Not only was it inconvenient, but it also felt unhygienic and careless. When I brought it to the staff’s attention, the issue wasn’t handled professionally or with much concern.

Something as basic as checking cups before serving customers should be standard. This experience really took away from what could have been an enjoyable visit. I hope management addresses this so other customers don’t have the same problem.

My Lunch special was delicious, i had fried battered fish and crinkle cut fries. I also loved my coleslaw side. My sweet Tea tasted freshly brewed, I also loved my fried Pickles! They probably change the fry oil every day! I am impressed!!!

This was an amazing place, for my first month in Florida. The atmosphere was that of a diner with a wide selection of actual Florida food. Had my first Gator bites, I don't like gator. They were playing a game which seemed really fun filled with facts.
