My family and I were in town celebrating mom’s birthday. Came across this restaurant and oh my gosh! Everything was amazing the food, the service, the vibe was just absolutely wonderful! Our server Miguel was so attentive and professional. He let us know the specials for the day. Said everything made fresh and it was. We could all taste the authenticity in every bite from the Cuban sandwich, el churrasco that was the most tender steak I’ve ever tasted to the chicharrones and tostones. I would make a 5 hour drive there and back just to eat here. I highly recommend this gem! And to Miguel thank you so much for your hospitality you made our family feel at home.
Went with coworkers for lunch and not only was the special fantastic, the atmosphere was great and the service was perfect. Our waiter never let a glass go empty and he even brought out sample-sizes for the special meal. Get the Tres Leches!

We went for lunch. It was slow which was beautiful for a small intimate lunch for my partner and I. Everything was fresh and yummy and our waiter, an older gentleman, was attentive, speedy, and an absolute delight. I don't have much experience with eating Cuban food but I loved this experience and taste.
Wheelchair accessibility: No steps and large open floor layout would make it incredibly easy to move through the space.
I am outraged for not paying attention to the previous comments where it is clear that the only acceptable thing is the attention of the older man, but what I went to was to eat and that is what I am evaluating, I feel that I gave away my money and I will never return, much less I would recommend it. Respecting the variety of opinions, I think that 4 stars for this place does not tell the truth since the essential thing will always be the quality and flavor of the food. Beans, dough, rice with chicken, ropavieja and other dishes that none of the ones we tasted satisfied us with and the truth is we are not that demanding, we are just Cubans who like our food.

Miguel A server at the Havana Jax is the Server to have not only cause he shares the same name ?, He is polite fast and respectful also well dressed he’ll see you come in and open the door for you as well as hold the door for you on your way out, My wife and daughter were very new to Latin cuisine and he sat there and made sure they knew what they were ordering, he was attentive and seemed to always give you time you needed to eat before asking if everything is satisfactory. I really enjoyed the food, but was very impressed with the service and quality this place offers, and Miguel, well he delivers on that to perfection. Highly recommend and hope future customers get to see how good of a server he is to them .

Worst Cuban sandwich I ever had in my life. It's been a long time since I had a Cuban sandwhich so I thought I would try it Worst mistake ever..fries tastes like they were cookes in day old grease. The cocktails were good but that's about it. My husband liked his empanada he said it was OK. I didn't taste them so I'm not sure if he was just being nice or if they were really ok or not. I will not be returning.
It’s hard to find places as good as this one. The food was simple but the taste was divine. You can tell they take their time with quality ingredients. But what stood out was the waiter, Miguel. He was an elderly man but you could never tell based on the speed and quality of his services. The drinks were always refilled and his sweet generous energy was contagious. Miguel delivered hands down one of the best “waiter” experiences I have ever had. Cannot recommend this place enough. It is a gem to the Jacksonville community.
Miguel was a wonderful server to us. Never slipped a beat, and assisted with all of our needs. The ceviche, empanadas, Cuban, bowl and rice pudding was unbelievable. We will be back!!!

Delicious food and my favorite Cuban restaurant in Jacksonville! Delicious ropa vieja and picadillo
This was an excellent lunch on a whim. We arrived at 11:30 and were seated immediately. The booths can be tight. I had the pork lunch special, and my wife had the magnificent Caribbean salad.
Miguel was our server and was cordial and very attentive. He definitely added to the experience. A perfectly delicious lunch. Enjoy!
