Indulgence Southern Bistro

Baaaaaaaaby this spot is the best!!! The plan was to go to Ruth Chris (we don't have e one in Albany) for my son's 18th bday bit they don't open til 4pm. I AM SO GLAD!!! I found Southern Indulgence on Google and the menu caught my eye. We stopped by and was warmly greeted by Charles. We love the music! We love the vibe! The Salmon croquettes were AMAZING! I hate shrimp but I couldn't stay out of my son's shrimp and grits! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! 50 STARS!!!

Charles and Yanna were fantastic when we came in!! Music was amazing food and drinks were fantastic. The mimosa flight was so good mid way through we order a second one. My catfish and grits was amazing and my homegirl chicken & waffles was good as well. Thank you for the service!!!

Omg!!! I ate the catfish and grits….. the fish was fried to perfection. I had a side of bacon and thank God it was not greasy and crispy!! Charles was our waiter.. he was awesome!! Very attentive, gave great recommendations, and his playlist was everything. We will be back!! My wife and cousin had the chicken and waffles and it was seasoned and fried to perfection.

We enjoyed a late lunch at this quaint little spot today. Chicken and waffles and lemon pepper wings were on point! But, that housemate sangria!!! It was EVERYTHING, plus, our server Charles brought all the energy. Definitely going to check this spot out again for a Sunday morning brunch and Jags game. This is a CAN'T MISS in downtown Jax!

The vibe was everything and awesome customer service , the food Presentation was tasteful to the eye and the taste of the food did not disappoint. I got the catfish and grits with the Cajun sauce omg let me tell you how I was sliding out the chair at the bar … I was definitely swallowing that food down !! But don’t just take my word come try it yourself…. I’ll be back !

Extremely disappointed overall. While conducting business in the area a group of us (4) decided we would walk to Indulgence to try something different for lunch. We were immediately greeted upon walking in and directed to our table. We waited quite some time before being asked for our drink order and were not provided menus. We grabbed our own from the bar top. After an extended wait, we were finally able to place our order. Each of us ordered from the Lunch menu. (2) ordered the fish po boy, (1) grilled chicken sandwich and (1) pasta Alfredo. There were guests at approximately 4 tables during our visit. From the moment we placed our order, it took approximately 40 minutes to get our food. The (2) fish said it was just ok. The chicken sandwich said it had no flavor and was bland. The Alfredo tasted like noodles with watered down milk poured on them and the grilled chicken was cooked without any seasoning at all. The most enjoyable part of lunch was the old school music they were streaming but they shut it off about half way into our experience. I was hopeful going in, but left frustrated and disappointed. If the food and service doesn’t improve drastically, I don’t see them being open long. I hope they are able to make some adjustments to improve and be successful.

There were no eggs for Brunch menu. We waited for the eggs to arrive, one dozen of eggs finally arrived. Then more ppl came in, then I saw another dozen of eggs being carried to the kitchen. My party's omlettes were very scarce and small due to there were a limited supply of eggs but the price remained the same. The food was good, the service was good. Our portions were very small. Salmon croquttes, crab cakes, seafood omlette and veggie omlettes were very small portions. Our bill for two including mimosas were about $80, also those plastic cafeteria cups for water were sketchy but the water bottles were cold and refreshing. Also, the waitress served me coffee although it was not on the menu. Not sure if I would go back again, but maybe if they had some eggs!
