Ordered an Oxtail platter, brown stew chicken, plantains & a beef patty, the only thing that was truly edible was the plantains. The beef patty was badly burned and the oxtail and brown chicken smelled spoiled as if they had let the food sit out for longer than it should and then heated it up and served it the smell and taste was overwhelming so as I took a closer look I saw white spots on the oxtail that looked as if mold may have began growing. not to mention the flavor was not there at all and overall I just would not recommend this place

First time here and we will definitely go back. Did not disappoint. Everything was great. If anything I was just cheese up the Mac a little but it was seasoned so I cant complain ! The hot honey lemon pepper wings were amazing. My lady loved the ox tail. The breeze lemonade i believe it was delicious. Beef patties had the perfect amount of kick. Thanks for being open till 9 on a Wednesday.

Nothing was good, not even the chicken. Excessive wait. Lots of parking. No crowd. Considering the food was so bad, the prices were definitely higher than they should be. Much better options nearby. Has to be different owners.

My family and I had just arrived in Jacksonville and had a long day at the airport and getting settled in at the hotel. It was kind and of late so we didn't expect.uch to.be open. We knew we did not want typical fast food (McDonald's, burger King, KFC, etc.) so we searched for home style restaurants. We agreed on a place however, we never found it. We just so happened to stumble upon Island Breeze Cafe while looking for another restaurant. I'm so glad we found this restaurant instead and decided to go in!! The women working here were so welcoming and sweet! Customer service is a deal breaker for me and these women were A1!! They were so nice, we ordered enough food for a football team! Lol everything we ordered was so good! The oxtails, curry chicken, jerk chicken, fried fish, cabbage, rice and peas, white rice, plantain, meat pie, and ginger beer, everything hit the spot! The portions were extremely generous and the chef seemed to cook everything fresh! It was late, it was dark and the area was a bit deserted but, we saw the place looked decent and decided to try. I'm glad we did.

I got the jerk chicken combo with a side of plantains. The jerk chicken was exactly how I excepted it to be from the image I seen was great. The plantains were a unique flavor. Very good

The artwork inside was beautiful when I walked in. There was no one inside when I came in, I sat myself and waited 20 min before someone greeted me. I ordered my food and asked for a water and ginger beer. Food came 30 min later, which was fine, but I still never got a drink, so I asked again and got my ginger beer but no water. I got the brown stew chicken. It was tender and wasn't bad, but it wasn't to my liking. I found it salty and just not what I was looking for. Cabbage and rice n peas were ok. They also included a 16.5% gratuity to the bill, and it was just me. They no longer do happy hour, and I wish the cocktails had the items in the drink. If you're from South Florida or the island, you may not like i, but find out for yourself
