My family and I had just arrived in Jacksonville and had a long day at the airport and getting settled in at the hotel. It was kind and of late so we didn't expect.uch to.be open. We knew we did not want typical fast food (McDonald's, burger King, KFC, etc.) so we searched for home style restaurants. We agreed on a place however, we never found it. We just so happened to stumble upon Island Breeze Cafe while looking for another restaurant. I'm so glad we found this...
I got the jerk chicken combo with a side of plantains. The jerk chicken was exactly how I excepted it to be from the image I seen was great. The plantains were a unique flavor. Very good
The artwork inside was beautiful when I walked in. There was no one inside when I came in, I sat myself and waited 20 min before someone greeted me. I ordered my food and asked for a water and ginger beer. Food came 30 min later, which was fine, but I still never got a drink, so I asked again and got my ginger beer but no water. I got the brown stew chicken. It was tender and wasn't bad, but it wasn't to my liking. I found it salty and just not what I was looking for....
