I am from Tucson, Arizona which has just been voted number one as a city for having fantastic Mexican food. Tucson is very close to the border of Mexico and the Mexican food is exquisite. I have gone to many Mexican restaurants here, because I miss the food so much, and nothing tastes like Sonoran Mexican food as La Nopalera does. I went to lunch the other day and my server was a man by the name of Oscar. The food was beyond perfect, the restaurant is spotlessly clean and the ambiance was wonderful! I loved every second of my lunch and my visit to this restaurant and will go back again and again. This is true Sonoran-style Mexican food!!! Thank you, Oscar, and La Nopalera!!!

So I stopped in here today and to get lunch. I got there lunch special number three which is too tiny tacos and something else on the side. While I was eating it, I found a leaf in the salad and when I told the waitress that that just turned my appetite off, I couldn't eat any more of it. She's like oh that is gross nothing else. Came back for more tacos (and a margarita) and everything was just as amazing as the first time! I only got two tacos (lesson learned as I had to take my third to go last time) and it was the perfect amount! I ordered the Surf and Turf and the Mushroom-Pollo. I also ordered a house margarita and added peach flavoring. It was refreshing and not overly sweet. It was also a really good price for the size! Autumn was our server and she was SO sweet! She constantly checked on us and made sure we were enjoying everything. We came on a Thursday evening and there were a few patrons for happy hour, but it wasn't crowded by any means. It's definitely a great place to unwind. I really hope that other locals give this place a chance, because it is really good!

This was my first time here and I have to say very disappointing service... our server was female with a red hair band/bow.She didn't introduce her self or made any effort to welcome us especially when we mentioned this was our first time trying L Nopalera, put it this way she was unmotivated. Anyway she was absent most of the time serving other customers. If I was the owner of this restaurant I would be disappointed, people like her ruin it for businesses. Yes she may get more tips from larger groups but she creates loss for the business owners for no repeat business from customers like us.We all decided to give it another go, hopefully avoiding her specifically.

The quesadilla tasted like meatloaf. It was very soggy and not pleasant at all. The dinner combo was drenched in a red sauce that was very acidic and the meat was dry. It also took about 45 minutes for food to arrive which I think is a little long. They were not that busy. Do not recommend.
