Nah man......lame bar, lame music and lame audience. Not a good option for downtown, don't go. Music taste is a no.

They can serve you any drink you want - quickly and professionally! We came in wanting a coffee drink since we were going to a late show at the Florida theater - they were the only place that had one!

Upon entering the venue, I got an initial "laugh" at the stark difference between the photos taken at Dos Gatos and the garage-sized room I entered, cooled only by a small fan. Having watched comedy shows from New York to Vegas, I've seen a wide variety of comedians. Even Andrew Dice Clay, who built his representation on being controversial, didn't venture into the cringe-worthy territory that the headliner did with a sexual innuendo joke involving his daughter. The show was worthy of 2 stars but shame on ownership for the misleading pictures and allowing performers to artificially boost ratings by writing reviews. Hence the 1 star rating. With a dearth of quality comedy options downtown, a quality product would speak for itself through word of mouth. Or at least actual audience members would feel compelled to speak up about their enjoyable experience.

My wife planned a night out for us and it started out on a great note at Laugh Lounge. We hung out in the Tiki room before the show with some friends. The comedians on the bill were all funny and not like your typical Open Mic. It was a pro show. Plus we were already downtown so it was easy to find a good place to eat after. Highly recommend.

Intimate, fresh, and with excellent comedians working their craft, Laugh Lounge is the best in Jacksonville comedy. PRO TIP: check out the Tiki Room while you're there! The level of care in designing even these spaces for the audience is really above and beyond.

I spent 56 dollars to be in an audience where a comedian (Kerry-sp?) was testing his most offensive jokes... and YES I read the disclaimer that this show was "R-rated"..... I laugh and love most taboo jokes so this was not the issue. In general, I am a huge comedy lover, and truly I am all about saying what everyone wants to say but won't; and enjoy humor that tests some boundaries. The most upsetting part to me was this: when he was funny he was hilarious! But then, he would try sooo hard to push the limits with sexual jokes about babies, children, etc... and for me, that's the limit. The vibe was also, "here's what I have to say and if anyone heckles, or walks out, or has anything to say back, then you're in the wrong". The one lady that left, did so during his jokes about infants, and he commented on her looks... if looks are the only thing you can insult, then you know you're in the wrong. I had high hopes, truly! I even was seriously considering purchasing the acting class and potentially the improv class package, but held off to feel the vibe. Sadly, I felt used after that show, and am in no way interested in pursuing their classes. The only way improvements in business and the only way performers improve is by honest critique; so here it is :). I am hopeful that this feedback is helpful, as we all have room to grow. In the future, please don't charge audience members 25 dollars for a shortened show (ended at 8 instead of 8:30) where you test jokes that aim for shock value rather than laughs. Your audience members come to these shows to escape, not to feel burdened by imagery that is so disturbing, already among a disturbing world. In a culture where everyone is trying to outdo everyone else, the opposite authentic approach proves to be more engaging and entertaining.

Last weekend I attended a show at Laugh Lounge for the first time. I’m kicking myself for not going sooner! Tickets are inexpensive ($15-Ish). It’s a cool venue - intimate and eclectic. I got there early and ordered a cocktail from the tiki bar (love it!). Note that the bar accepts only cash and Venmo, but that information was provided by the venue before I arrived, so I was prepared. The performance space is cozy. Though I sat in the back row, there were zero sight line issues. The host/emcee was engaging and funny. The opener and headliner were both hilarious. I laughed out loud A LOT! I’m sorry I didn’t catch a show at Laugh Lounge sooner, but I guarantee I’ll be back!

A very cool and local comedy experience. Local meaning the fun was authentically crafted in a cool intimate and vibey venue. All things artsy and Jax filled fun for a Saturday night. Friendly people, entertaining comics, a hell of a stand up Katie Johnston and a whole lot of community. Get there early to enjoy the early shenanigans, grab a drink or two and get to know the comics. Recommend.

Great comics, very uncomfortable seats. will not return to this venue, but would love to see these comics in a more comfortable setting.
