I ordered on uber eats so I haven't been to the cafe irl but it was so good I had to go out of my way to leave a review on uber eats AND google. The cream puffs here are so orgasmically good that I will be thinking about them every time I'm in bed with a man for the rest of my life. The coffee was amazing but those cream puffs awoke something in me. I felt like I was transported into a past life where I was a poor servant in France and I was to be executed for stealing cream puffs from my master, but my only regret was not eating more of them.
Pretty sure the baker is doing some kind of black magic back there. Not my business, not my problem, give me 14 of them.
Vegetarian options: Most items on the menu are vegetarian for my veggie friends out there

Super cute and tasty seasonal desserts. Just phenomenal execution of all the desserts I tried.
The creme brûlée creme puff and then Ferraro rocher seem the most popular.
They highly recommend the Ube dessert.

Very charming & cute place with a great atmosphere! I loved their iced matcha and though I didn't try them, all the pastries/desserts looked good too. My dad got a hot latte; he's can be a huge coffee critic and he said it's one of the best he's had which is high praise lol.
I would definitely want to come back again! The inside of the cafe is very aesthetic, though quite small so I can imagine it getting quite crowded at certain hours.

The sweets are good. Unfortunately they do not accept cash so that ruins the whole situation for my family. Will not be returning or recommending to anyone. Stop allowing businesses to be cashless.
Dessert is good the people serving you are not pleasant. Not the first time we have had this kind of service from here.

To say I am obsessed with this place is an understatement. They have the actual best, pastries ever! I can’t get enough of their crème brûlée puff. It’s also nice seeing all the special additions that they do weekly.

Light on the sugar! Not sure about the light part just from looks but they do say most cream puffs have less sugar than normal in bakeries. Pistachio latte was rly good but very strong!

Love, love their coffee. I haven’t tried their desserts yet but they all look so amazing.
I am in love with their pistachio latte since a different *certain* coffee shop stopped doing pistachio. I also tried their strawberry coffee which was fun and different for me ?

Excellent pastries, especially the ube crepe cake! Light and not too sweet. The coffee is wonderful, too.

This is such a charming little bakery! I’ve visited twice and I can’t say enough good things. The pastries are delicious and honestly the worst part is that they aren’t overly sweet so I can easily eat a ton of them. So far I’ve had the fruit tea with jasmine base, crème brûlée puff, the mango peach tart and the mango/coconut tres leches. Pictured are the tea, crème brûlée puff, and tres leches which I had in my most recent visit.
If you only want to try one item, please get the puff, you won’t regret it. But I’m sure anything will be delicious.
I wanted to address a lot of the negative comments since they revolve around service and price. This isn’t the cheapest option but also I’m not sure what gave the impression that it was. It’s an independent, local bakery that makes highly perishable items. Honestly the prices, with how expensive things are nowadays, are very reasonable! As for service, it might be hit or miss but the two gals that were there on Friday were attentive and helpful.

I've had nothing but good experiences here all around. Friendly staff, fresh tasting, good products, and greta prices. I love that there was real fruit in my fruit tea. Sam and Olivia were both very friendly :)!

Finally tried Light on the Sugar here in Jax! I heard their sister locations that popped up in Orlando first were quite tasty. I’m happy to report the location in the St Johns TownCenter mall is most delectable.
Here is what we ordered:
Tiramisu, two latte’s (strawberry matcha with oat milk + dalgona with whole milk)
ube cheesecake, and a dark chocolate pistachio tart.
Out of all of these options, the ube cheesecake was my favorite. All not overly sweet, or undersweet. If you do try the ube cheesecake, fair warning, it will make you mouth/teeth a deep hue of purple for a few minutes.
There were two girls working behind the order counter who had great suggestions of what their favorites were, as well as what the most popular orders overall usually are.
There are a few suggestions I didn’t get this visit but looking forward to trying on another visit. (Puffs and macarons)
I visited in the late afternoon. I do recommend visiting early on if you want a visual of everything they have to offer. I had plenty to pick from but I did notice as people finished early dinner times, it did get quite crowded and less options were available to order on a typical Friday.
Light on the Sugar is a bit pricier than other competitor bakeries here in Jax. This isn’t a place I’d frequent too often because it is a pricey treat; but I do think the quality is there.
I loved trying this recommendation a fellow yelp elite suggested (thanks Rachel T)
Light on the Sugar is officially Treat O Clock friendly ; )
Happy to support local at lil gems like this.
Parking: Light on the Sugar is at the TownCenter mall between Ulta and Bento. Plenty of parking at the mall and a short walk to the front door.
