Matthew's Restaurant

Michael was a fantastic server. We got the Chefs Tasting Menu for valentine's day with a combination of my wife and I's birthdays. I have never had an experience at a restaurant quite like this. Michael explained all of the courses masterfully, and truly took his service experience to the next level. 11/10 experience, will definitely be choosing Matthews for all of my future events and occasions.

My fiancé took me for my birthday and the experience was not what I expected from a fine dining restaurant. We had reservations at 8pm and we arrived about 10 minutes early. We checked in and were greeted by a gentleman and informed our table was almost ready. The hostess was very awkward by her contradiction to what the gentleman had just told us. She sat another couple and stated she’d be right back to take us. She kept saying they were there before us and she had to go in order. We had no issue whatsoever waiting for them to be seated but she continued to speak and comment about it. We reassured her we were not in a rush. What followed was us waiting for another 15 minutes to be seated. I saw the table she intended to seat us at and asked if we could possibly be moved closer in and not right at the doorway. She gave us an odd look and said it was the only one available. Mind you were could clearly see 3 or 4 more tables available. She seemed very bothered by my ask and just kept fumbling with the menus and such. As we stood there it was just not a welcoming entrance and there was no where to sit to wait to be seated. Only stand at the front. We both laughed and made light of the situation. We were taken to our seats and were sat. We were greeted and ordered our courses. We started out with steak tartar and snow crab salad. Tartar was remarkable and worth going back for. The snow crab salad was ok but not something we would order again. We moved to the foie gras and it was ok. Our meals were decent but I can say for the amount we spent there I know another place that the scallops and tenderloin were remarkable. Dessert was decent but not the experience or quality of food we were expecting.

We went for dinner, with a reservation, on a Friday evening to celebrate my wife’s birthday.
We were seated promptly when we arrived, a little early. The ambiance is pleasant, if slightly noisy. A small table was brought for my wife to place her purse, which is a nice touch.
The service staff were impeccable the entire night, and explained the menu, made recommendations, and took out drink order while we decided what we would like for dinner. Water and a fresh bread selection was served. Drinks came (delicious!) and we placed our order. We had an appetizer course, dinner course and dessert. Everything we ordered was a tastebud delight. The entire evening was flawless; food, service and enjoyment. Best restaurant experience I have had in many years.

Our guest, Polly ordered the pasta dish which came out cold, but it was remade and came back out piping hot within minutes. It was a great recovery. My husband, "The Birthday Boy" got the Branzino dish and thought it was fantastic. It was a big portion so with the other starters he didn't finish his whole meal. He had it boxed up to take home. I had the Steak Tartare and the Escargot, and it was delicious as always! Great place for a special Birthday Meal.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. I can't recommend it enough. We have done the chef tasting menu four times and we are never disappointed. I can't say enough about our server Peter. He is absolutely fabulous. I told him I was going to rave about him on my review so here it is. He knew his menu, his wine selections and went above and beyond to make sure I had a perfect birthday celebration. Of all the service I have had he will by far be one of my most memorable. Thank you for keeping a smile on my face the entire evening, and that's not just the wine and bourbon talking. We truly loved this whole experience. The food was amazing, the restaurant is beautiful and service was top notch.

The service from beginning to end was kind, curtious and super friendly. Our Server Matt was outstanding with advice on ordering and food items, being it was our first time. 10/10 would recommend.

We really enjoyed our anniversary meal event. The food, service and wine pairing were great. We will be back and can't wait to enjoy ourselves again.

Went for our 14th anniversary and did the tasting menu like we normally do and it was delicious as always. We had Peter as our primary server and he was fantastic!

Everything was fantastic for our anniversary! The staff does an amazing job personalizing the experience.

We ended 2025 on an extremely high note. We enjoyed the 6:00 sitting and five of the finest courses of food. It was a delightful time. We plan on making it an annual event. We are looking forward to monthly visits, too. Happy New Year!!!

Absolutely wonderful first experience and amazing staff with possibly the best food I've ever tasted.

LOVED the atmosphere, the food was amazing my favorites were the escargot and the key lime for deserts.The fish was also delicious. You CAN'T go wrong with any of the dishes.

Top tier restaurant!!! We've been going every year on our anniversary since Matthew opened in 1998. It is a wonderful experience and the servers are always top tier! My fav of favs!!!
