We were greeted right away as we entered and felt welcomed. Sam was very friendly and helpful in telling us about the menus and specials. Each of our dishes was very delicious and we would purchase the same meals again. We will definitely be back. Their menu items have a nice variety, and they also have pre-prepped meals to go.

I come to Newks often when I go to River city because I like their food and usually their service is very friendly but today girl at the front cashier wasn’t quite rude, but there was no smile, no greeting although I smiled and greeted her. Maybe she thought I looked a little odd. I’m undergoing chemo and my hair is just growing back; considering Newks is supporting ovarian cancer this is rather strange. Anyway my ham and cheese sandwich as usual was quite good.

Not sure what people are smoking to give this high reviews. The 4.5 stars (top in the area) is what made me stop in. I got the wrong sandwich (ordered French dip but got the Philly). Just dealt with it and asked for au jus. Tough bread. Very little meat and dry. Mayo? (checked a couple recipes and none have mayo). Ended up just pulling off the meat from the other half, still not good. Now comes the lobster bisque. Tasted fishy, couldn’t find any meat, and what’s worse had 3 pieces of shell. Yikes!

This newks is the closest to our home,we visit pretty regularly. The portions seem to have gotten slightly smaller on the sandwich size and the amount of soup given..but the food is usually good and The staff is always friendly. We do miss having the extras at the bar for our convience. Now you have to ask for those items and they are typically forgotten..

Today I ordered the The Newks Q pizza with cauliflower crust and a Greek salad. Chefs kiss! should literally be considered for the best pizza award. Perfect amount of sauce, cheese, and jalapeños…every.single.time.

$17 for pick three combo was not a good value in my opinion. Po Boy sandwich only had 4 shrimp and the shrimp and avocado salad only had two tiny chunks of avocado. Soup had no noticeable meat in it.

I had a delivery from here, and although it took long, that was not the restaurants fault. However, I do agree with one reviewer about the size of their sides....they are a joke and should be shamed to charge people for that small of a portion. The Portobello sandwich was just ok....not at all anything to write home about.
