My boyfriend and I came in last Saturday night and the girl (I believe she was a manager) questioned my boyfriend on why he wasn’t paying for my meal, told me “I’ll be your girlfriend and pay for your meal”, and at the end tried to say she was “joking” after not letting the subject go. I like the food at Newk’s but this San Jose Blvd location is terrible and the employees always seem like they hate their job. I’m sure nothing will be done about it, though.

Not sure what all the hype is about but I ate here for the first time last week and definitely not impressed. 25$ for 2 tiny sandwiches. they were good but nothing more than that. as for the cashier/server he had no smile looked like he hated life and was very dull. Definitely wont be back

I usually enjoy Newk’s Eatery at every location I’ve visited. Most of the staff is kind and polite, the food is always great and the wait time is never too bad. HOWEVER, one of the managers at the San Jose location (her name is Claire I think) had such a bad attitude! She was extremely unprofessional, careless and truly just seemed lost. I’m not sure how someone can be promoted to manager lacking so much effort, care AND skill but... I guess that’s just how this generation is. Very disappointed.

I love coming to Newks eatery everytime I have the chance, it’s easy to find new fun options & I never have to wait too long plus everyone seems to be in such high spirits which I love!! My concern stems from an incident I observed, a manager there (named Claire I believe) had such a negative impact on my experience because of her attitude & inability to run the place, I will be back but hopefully not when she’s there!!

1st time here. We're not from the area so we stopped here because someone recommended it. Had a pizza and salad. The pizza has a light, thin and crispy crust with plenty of toppings. The Greek salad was giant and really good! If we're ever in the area again, we would come back.

Can't beat Newks salads. With complimentary food bar and size of the salads, it's a great deal. Very clean restaurant and friendly staff, I frequent this Newks. Highly recommend
Just had a French dip sandwich which is the best I have had in YEARS. The sausage gumbo is pretty great too.

I love this place! Along with Jason's deli, this is one of my "go to" places if I am craving a good sandwich. The bread here is amazing to me. The have a really nice menu of salads, soups, pizzas and sandwiches. I recommend the Newks Q (pizza or sandwich) or the Pesto Chicken sandwich. The servings are nice sized, the food is good and fresh, and the service is always fast and friendly. Definitely a great place to stop for a meal.
