I've been here several times. They make you feel welcome. The service has been awesome! The food is delicious awesome and the portions perfect. You leave knowing you will be back!!
On a recent visit to Jacksonville we stopped for breakfast at this diner. My eggs were overdone and do was my husband's omelet. My crispy bacon was soggy, my toast was was cold and hard with butter on top and the fruit looked and tasted like it had been mixed together the night before. We love these out of yhe way little places, but this one was a definite dissapointment.

We took some out of town family since we’ve enjoyed OD in the past and they like going places they don’t have up north. Between us ee had both breakfast items and lunch items. The staff was pleasant and efficient. We all enjoyed our orders and they allowed us to linger and visit until our family needed to get going. They all told us later they were glad we took them to OD. See you next time we are in that part of town.

I had the Eggs Benedict. On the plus side, the eggs were perfectly poached. However, the hollandaise sauce was canned. Hollandaise is a fairly easy sauce to make. Here, it was tasteless.
The fried potatoes both my husband and I were served were overcooked and cold. Again, no good flavor.
The staff was pleasant but we will not be returning based on the food quality.

Drove across town for the chipped beef, was very unimpressed and won’t be back. It’s made to order but lacks in flavor and was runny.. the beef like someone said in a previous review was like sandwich meat.. either fix your dish or pull it off the menu.. it’s a disservice to a southern dish.

Food is good when you can get it. Been here twice. First time my order was forgotten. Waited a while and was worth the wait. This morning arrived and sat and sat and sat watching everyone get waited on. I should have spoken up but wanted to see if anyone was going to take my order. Was there 30 minutes in a half full restaurant and no one came by my table.

We just found Oceana Diner, it’s close to Mayo Clinic and with different appts it sometimes gives us time to go for breakfast or lunch and this diner gives us a great meal with a friendly atmosphere and people. It’s definitely worth a stop.
