Root down is always great with silent disco & we had lots of fun. I will say that the calculated gratuity options starting at 30% on the iPads is alittle sneaky considering bartenders aren’t even shaking cocktails. After a couple drinks there’s no way I’m able to personally calculate my own 20% tip, especially with a busy bartender staring into my soul.

i coming to root down! the drinks are always exactly made to order, staff is extremely friendly and helpful if you're confused about any menu items. it's great that they have both indoor and outdoor spaces available, and the atmosphere is always very inviting! definitely recommend coming when they have silent disco available, but be warned that they don't serve liquor/spirits. the house sangria is delicious though!

This was a perfect stop for a refreshing drink for my 1st visit to to SunRay Cinema next door. The (NA) Craft lemonade was very good and I’ll definitely order again on my return visit. Shoutout to Bartender Charlie for her hospitality. The interior has a cool contemporary design and is spacious. Seating at the bar was comfortable. The prettiest bar and the most chill staff :) The courtyard in the spring with all the jasmines is beautiful. Great selection of beer and wine -- creative ways to make drinks with flavoring/herbs... Just such a nice place overall, my favorite bar in Jax

I've been going to Root Down for a few years and not once did I ever experience the RUDEST SERVICE EVER until Last night ! I was trying to explain to the bartender how these customers skipped me because I had been patiently waiting to be served a drink . So I placed my order and this red head / gold hair BITCH slammed my drink on the counter to the point it splashed on me. Then she tried to brush me off as if I got my drink so I need to go.... So while explaining to her what had transpired, she just jumped straight to assuming I was arguing with her without listening to what I was trying to say so I asked for a manager and she LIED about them having one at the time. So I decided to end conversation with her and asked another bartender for his intake on what happened and asked him for a Manager, which he gladly went to get for me .... This BITCH decided to jump in our conversation and tell me that she wants to close my tab. Didn't have a problem with her doing it whatsoever. The manager handled the situation fairly and also got my drink . She was mad that I was still there and decided to talk about the entire situation with the guy at the door and even the rude ass customer that skipped me , like she cleared something . Girl PLEASE ! Im just thankful I'm not the old me anymore because it definitely would've been ugly for THAT BITCH and her BITCH ASS CUSTOMER.

We stopped here for drinks after eating lunch at Hawkers one weekend. We were just looking for a chill place to have a cocktail and beer and stumbled up on Root. It's been here for about 8 years, but I've never even paid attention to it. The ambiance is pretty simple. It's a big open space with a long bar. There's outside seating as well out back. But, what makes this place 5 stars? That would be the amazing selection of craft beer and Charlie's, the amazing bartender, ability to whip up any cocktail you may want with respect to beer and wines. They don't have hard liquor here, but don't let that dissuade you from going! We throughly enjoyed our chill afternoon here and we go back often now to hang with Charlie and try the selection of beer and new cocktails on the menu! Great place! Oh, and their bathrooms have killer lighting for selfies.
