I used to love Ruth Chris… I still do but it’s not what it used to be like many things unfortunately. The place is very nice as a location , downtown RiverfrontJacksonville…. The service is average but used to be better . The food menu has changed over the years a little and for some reason changing the recipes that were great were replaced with ok ones . Why fix something that isn’t broke ? Prime example, the filet mignon was prepared with a peppercorn recipe and was absolutely delicious. The second from the last time we went and ordered the filet it came very salty and had to send my wife’s order back .I have never had to send a steak back atRuth Chris but this time unfortunately it was just not enjoyable to consume .They changed the recipe and what used to have a great flavor has no flavor now.

Took my bf for his birthday.The food was subpar,with the exception of the steaks. That said, the ribeye was more fatty than is usual.Caesar salad was chopped up hearts, no actual green. Lobster soup was small, lukewarm and bland - no lobster. Calamari - slightly rubbery and doused in way too much sauce. Shrimp was over cooked as was the lobster. Mashed potatoes I'm sure came in a box, also lukewarm. Creamed spinach, lukewarm and bland.Shame as the service was great!Very disappointing. $250 meal for two people that frankly should have been $50.

I've been here multiple times and not sure why I haven't reviewed this place yet. It's way overdue. Each time, steaks were perfectly grilled to my liking and service has been amazing. Celebrated anniversary, birthday, and just meet-up. Good service too! I'm a fan of this place!Restaurant is located at Downtown Jacksonville's Double Tree by Hilton Hotel overlooking the scenic St. Johns River. Parking at hotel's garage with validation is available. Valet is also available for $8 with a validation sticker.

I called on a Tuesday to make reservations. I was assured by the guy that took my call that he had me on the schedule and it would be a private event because there was 18 people. I asked was there anything I needed to pay to hold the table or anything. He responded that no he had me down for Friday the 22nd at 7pm. On the day of I called around 330 to ask a question about the menu for one of the guest that was coming with me. The lady that took my call on this day was rude to start off. Then told me that there wasn’t any private events for that day. She also said she didn’t see my name on any reservations. I told her the conversation with the gentleman on that previous Tuesday. She basically said that that’s not how it works and they couldn’t accommodate us. Even though she said earlier that there were no other private events. No apologies out anything. Ended up at another place with excellent customer service. Loved the food!

Food was incredible, service was sadly disappointing. It took an hour and a half from the moment we were seated to when we finally got to put in the order for our dinner. It took a long time for our server to make her way back to our table, and every time she did, she had forgotten something we had a question about or had ordered. It’s a shame because we just moved into the neighborhood and intended on being weekly regulars if we had good service; we also spend more than the average person during our dining experiences, so it’s a shame we couldn’t have been met with better service.

The service we received yesterday evening was horrible from start to finish, instructed by the bar staff to sit at the available table that needed to be cleared off near the bar. We waited 10-15 minutes for it to be cleaned or for anyone to acknowledge we were standing there. Melissa was our server and she was unpleasant and unwelcoming. I’ve never had bad service at Ruth Chris so I was taken aback when we were treated this way.
