I don’t usually write reviews, however, my service was spectacular. Abigale was so kind and sweet! It was my first time stopping by, and she instantly greeted me with her infectious smile and was beyond helpful, answering all of my questions thoroughly. She explained to me that all of the donuts are made fresh daily without preservatives, which sets Shipley’s apart from other donut shops. Also, it was very clean inside/outside; it looked as if they just opened. Overall, Abigale’s friendliness, patience, and attentiveness made my experience and I will definitely be back and telling others to ditch Dunkin’ in 2026!

Ordered two dozen donuts for my grandson’s birthday online, and it was so easy to do. When my daughter picked up the donuts at the stated time, she was welcomed by a smiling lady, who said that the donuts were ready and fresh out of the oven. Because there are no preservatives in Shipley’s donuts, they can not keep the inventory that was not picked up/sold for the day, and offered “on the house” another two dozen donuts for the birthday celebration. That was so very thoughtful and generous of them! I highly recommend Shipley’s Do-Nuts!

The donuts are not bad but not great. The service and atmosphere leaves a little to be desired. The staff were arguing in the back well customers were waiting at the counter. When they came up front they were friendly and helpful. Just didn’t not look good.

I pulled up at 4:40pm, 20 minutes before they close. The drive through was already closed so I walked inside to see the shelves of donuts nearly empty and a young guy wiping the shelves down so he could leave. They had taken the plain glazed off the warmers and set them in the back to get cold, and when I asked if these were the only donuts available, the guy sneazed hard near the donuts. I came all the way from southside and sat in traffic for nothing

The cinnamon twists were huge and extremely dry. The bear claws had nothing in them and were dry. Nothing was edible. Total waste of money. Nothing like they used to be, and I bought Shipley since the 1970's in San Marcos Texas and here.

I took my son here for breakfast on 12/18. He is obsessed with donuts, and since this shop is close to our house, we wanted to give it a try. The place is super cute. There were people everywhere behind the counter and it felt chaotic, but that is understandable for a newly opened business.
The woman handling our order removed her gloves at times when I felt she should have kept them on, especially when making the coffee and placing paper on the donuts. I did not say anything, but I would have preferred more consistent glove use. I ordered a ham and cheese kolache, but when I got to the car it turned out to be sausage, so I had to go back inside. I also asked for cream and sugar in my coffee and only got cream, so I could not enjoy it until I got home, but the coffee was really good, even for someone picky like me. And the donut I tried from my son was excellent. It was so good that I gave the place five stars for the coffee and donuts alone.
We went back on 12/21 so my partner could try it. We ordered a dozen donuts, and the woman helping us this time was not really listening and kept adding donuts I did not ask for. Her mask was also below her nose, which bothered me. I did not say anything about the donut mix-up because someone will eat them. I ordered my partner a sausage kolache, and while he liked it, I noticed it was actually ham again. I am not sure why it is so hard to get the order correct.
I am dropping my review to four stars. After two visits with similar issues, I think I am already over this place and will probably go back to Krispy Kreme.
Who makes a bear claw out of soggy over-glazed donut dough and doesn't use any form of almond whatsoever? Also, since when is cappuccino a cup full of thick foamy sugar syrup? Closest coffee and donuts to my house, I won't be back.

Saw this place on my way to work and decided to stop in. A kolache, donut, and coffee for only $7? Yes, please! Great variety of donuts, the bread for the kolache was so, so soft and the filling was just right. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

So... I know the Shipley Donuts name is synonymous with delicious food... But I believe the Beach location... needs to have a refresh on customer service and how to pack to go orders.
I worked on a project at Mayo Clinic that provided Shipley Donuts, coffee, and Kolaches to a group of about 25 people. BOTH experiences, on two different days back to back, were not the best.
The first day... The order wasn't even ready when specified. It was an online order and when my coworker arrived... The order was not ready nor had it even been started. This set our schedule back by about 30 minutes. And we were on a tight schedule.
We decided to try them again for the NEXT day. The salvageable Kolaches were on point! All of the crew loved the Shipley Donuts products which was a to-go coffee container, Kolaches, and a dozen Donuts.
This second day's order, the order WAS ready, but someone put a cup of coffee creamer LOOSE in a bag of our donuts and Kolaches... And it spilled... EVERYWHERE IN THE BAG. The top was a coffee cup top. Why this employee decided to put a spillable cup of creamer in a bag of pastries... I have no idea. We had to throw TWO of the Kolaches AWAY!! They were soaked in the coffee creamer.
So... My overall impression... review of Shipley Donuts is that... Their products are great.. however be careful of the franchise that you visit.

Yes, I recommend Shipley Do-Nuts in Jacksonville. Their service has always been solid, and the place carries a bit of personal meaning for me. My daughter’s birthday was coming up, and on that same day my wife and I had parted ways. It was a tough moment, but I remember stopping by Shipley Do-Nuts, and the small kindness from the staff and the simple comfort of good food helped more than they probably realized. So yes good people, good service, and a place I appreciate.
