My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Silkies Chicken and Champagne. The atmosphere walking in was welcoming and intimate. We were first greeted by T to ask if we had been here before (in which we had not) and we responded no and she made sure that as we were waiting in line to order that we had access to the menu to decide our selection. Once it was our turn to order, the cashier was very nice and answered all of our questions to make sure we made a well informed descision. We ordered our food and was told we could sit anywhere. We sat in the section closest to the bar and awaited our food and drinks! We had one waitress deliver my delicious mimosa flight and then T brought our food. My husband realized that his Champagne order never came so I got up and asked T about it. She immediately got into action to get my husband's missing champagne and even topped him off after it was half gone because he had to wait on it. The food was delicious and the service and care of everyone that works here was even better. Just a background we originally picked this place to visit while we are in Jacksonville (we live in Tampa) because the owner, Chef Kenny, is from Cleveland (where we both are from) and we also love to support a black owned small business! We will definitely be back when we are in town and hope to see T and the rest of the Silkie's staff!

100/10The food was HOT! The hostess explained everything on the menu & the SWEET PLANTAINS WERE IMMACULATE! Atmosphere was lovely and it was a joy to see them help a gentleman who’s fallen on hard times. God has blessed this business & they in turn are blessing those who need assistance. I’m so impressed with this establishment! God bless you & we will be back!

Good was great

Went for brunch and the food was phenomenal!! I ordered the St Augustine and my friend ordered the 904. Chicken was juicy and tender while the waffles were perfectly crispy and soft. For a fast food service place it took 40+ minutes to order our food, but we did go during peak rush hours. There were plenty of tables open but it seemed like the cashier had multiple job responsibilities that made the ordering process so much longer. She was so kind, personable and even remembered our names when coming to check in on us, but the ordering time was a little annoying. Overall it was good worth waiting for!

Checked all the boxes. Fantastic food, homey atmosphere, and southern style service that is matched only by your mom. Portions are true to the cuisine’s traditions and you won’t leave hungry. You HAVE to try the cobbler. Keep doing your thing Silkie, and I’ll catch you the next time I’m in Jacksonville.

Stopped in Silkie’s on my way from NYC to Miami. So happy I found it. Wonderful food & service. Had fried chicken, biscuit, fries, and a local beer. Well worth a visit and supporting a friendly local business.

I DON'T RECOMMEND!March 23, 2024I was visiting a friend in Jacksonville FL, I live 2 hours away.To begin with, the sweet tea was delicious until 1 employee made another batch of sweet tea and there was something (mucus like) floating in my cup.Everything on the lunch menu seems to be spicy. If I had known that, we wouldn't have tried to eat there. I was told that the Oxtails were not spicy at all & that was a lie. I ordered Oxtails and attempted to eat them, but they were spicy. I let the waitress know, and she asked me if I would like to try anything else on the menu. The waitress recommended the fried chicken, but advised me that the mild was a tad spicy as well. When I asked her how spicy the mild was, she told me that their "mild" is like Popeyes "spicy".... THEN HOW IS IT MILD??? I declined the offer and asked if I could get a refund instead. She was extremely polite and went to process my refund of the $38, and she brought me a receipt, showing the refund. After constantly checking my bank account, I still did not see a refund. I called 3 weeks later and spoke with the same waitress that I interacted with, explaining that I have still not received my refund. She took my information and gave me a call back that same day stating that she spoke with the chef & in their system it shows that I was not charged for the oxtail meal and that some of my refund would have went to my "rewards" (MIND YOU, THIS WAS MY ONLY TIME AT THIS RESTAURANT & I HAVE NEVER SET ANY REWARDS PROGRAM UP WITH THEM AND SHE COULDN'T TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THEIR REWARDS PROGRAM). I never consented to any rewards program, and nobody could tell me how much of the refund was going towards the so-called rewards program... The waitress advised me that she would contact me the next day and keep attempting to figure out the issue, but NEVER CALLED ME BACK. I contacted my Credit Union, and we all know how these things can play out. The food is really overpriced for absolutely no reason. Something shady is definitely going on at this restaurant. I will never recommend this restaurant and will never spend money there again.UPDATE: MAY 1, 2024I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A REFUND OR A CALL BACK.

Food is amazing & so is the staff! I felt like family as soon as I walked in. Christie's customer service was superb and the chef even asked me how I'd like my fish prepared. I'll definitely be back!
