I have never heard of them before,so when ibsaw a sign that said small cakes, I was like awesome. After going in and out of best buy I decided to stop by and saw it was cupcakes. I went in anyway. The girl that was there did greet me and asked me what I wanted. I saod i jave never been in here before and i need a moment. I asked are the small cakes are what you're calling your cupcakes. She said yes. And I had a chance to peruse the selections,uninterrupted, which I like. It was a great selection of basic flavors with different icing, which let me know these are made fresh and not fresh frozen. I am very picky about where I spend my money. So I got a vanilla one with pink sugar, lemon, chocolate fudge and the Kentucky bourbon one. I gave it 2 stars because to be honest the only 1 that tasted good was actually the vanilla one. The lemon was not lemon cake and had a gelatinous lemon filling, so that was an absolute no for me. The chocolate was ok. The Kentucky bourbon tasted like they just poured bourbon on the baked cupcake, which was awful. I thought it was baked in. But they are using the big bags of dawn cake mix and I'm not a fan of that at all. You can have uniform cakes and flavors without using dawn/Pillsbury cake mixes. They were prettily decorated so that's another reason I gave 2 stars. I would have given 1 if it wasn't for the vanilla cupcake and the pretty decorations. I'm not impressed but also not surprised after finding out they have other locations. I want to support small business but this was a great disappointment for me. I don't like cake that taste like sweet cornbread and alcohol. I tossed the bourbon one and as you can see I kept nibbling at the pink vanilla and lemon till I hit the gelatinous center. There's better bakeries actually making things from scratch and I would rather spend my money there, because they did the work to get there instead of taking the easy way out and using cake mixes.

I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at this location. From the very beginning, the customer service was frustrating and unprofessional. I placed my order for a dog cake over the phone, and the entire process took over 20 minutes because the employee kept putting me on hold.

When I inquired about a military discount, I was told it could only be applied in person. However, when I arrived at the store to pick up the cake, I was denied the discount entirely. To make matters worse, the cake had no writing on it to indicate “Happy Birthday,” which is standard for a birthday cake. When I asked if a simple sticker (which cost 50 cents) could be included as a courtesy or as part of a military discount, I was told no—with attitude.

The cake itself cost $35, which is extremely overpriced for something so basic, especially considering it was for two small Yorkies who wouldn’t even eat it. The lack of courtesy, refusal to honor the discount, and dismissive attitude were disappointing, unprofessional, and frankly disgusting.

I would never recommend this business. If you’re going to charge premium prices, the least you can do is provide respectful service and some attention to detail. Change your attitude, treat your customers better, and stand by what you say on the phone.

This place is really cute and staff was friendly. Too bad their cupcakes aren't great, or at least ones I had. Ive tried their chocolate, strawberry and their Oreo flavors. The cakes are moist and are esthetically pleasing, but the strawberry one tasted artificial. The chocolate was too dense and heavy for me, and the Oreos icing didn't taste good. It just tasted like thick sugar, no other real flavors like vanilla or OREO...

This location constantly runs out of cupcakes. The last three times I have been to this Smallcakes, they didn't have what I wanted. Smallcakes has buy-two-get-one sells, but it doesn't even matter when they don't have what you want. Today, an hour before closing, all they had was six cupcakes of some oddball flavor nobody wanted to risk, I walked in and walked out probably for the last time.

Recently ordered three dozen cupcakes for delivery for a birthday party and man oh man were these cupcakes amazing!!!! Would 💯 recommend and will order again if the need arises! Online ordering platform was easy breezy and the communication, delivery and cupcakes were all top notch. Rave reviews by all!

Oh la la! We are traveling through the area on a family vacation and visited this bakery. It was a tough decision with all of the choices but each person chose a couple of different options to try. Yesterday I shared one of the Strawberry Cheesecake with my hubby. And WOW was it amazing. Hubby said it was a good thing we didn’t live here because they are so delicious it would be hard to resist. If we are ever passing through town again we will definitely return.

I have only visited this bakery twice. Last week and this week. Both visits the staff were very friendly and helpful. Today Jamie was working and suggested I try the Mississippi Mud Pie cupcake. It’s a really unique cupcake so I was a bit skeptical but Jamie assured me it was delicious. SHE WAS SO RIGHT!!!! Omg! This cupcake was moist, chocolatey and very tasty. The fluffy frosting is what sets this cupcake apart from the average cupcake. I appreciate Jamie and her awesome suggestion!

Tried to purchase from here today, everyone was in back talking, someone came out looked, saw I was there and when back to back. Never acknowledged me didn’t say we’ll be with you in a second… Nothing just continued to laugh and talk to each other. Oh well I’ll just go across the street to Eleon’s!

I was so excited to come today Memorial Day- drove all the way from Gainesville. But apparently all 3 locations are closed on Mondays- we had a smallcakes where I grew up and they weren’t closed on Mondays- so sad I was looking forward to it

Smallcakes is magic in a cupcake! My husband and I love the wedding cake, lemon and salted caramel cupcakes but don’t get me started on the cupcakes made with whiskey, rum etc. So amazing!

I had lunch nearby and decided to stop. Well that was the best decision I made. The cupcakes were delicious, soft, and moist. Me and my husband loved our options. We definitely will be back again, no where in Jax I have tasted better.
