Great Soul Food! Like home cooked meal. Don't count calories. Lot of fat in some items. But that's what makes it good. Especially oxtails. Excellent when cooked right and tender.

Solid value and very good food. Generous senior discount of 20% on weekdays is added bonus. They could possibly pick up the speed a little during lunch rush...otherwise no complaints.
Edit: 12/13/24 I've been here 15-20 times over lthe ast 5-6 years and it's always been a solid choice, however I have to say it's fell off a bit. Fried chicken was dried out, overcooked and probably a day old this time. The mac-n-cheese, carrots and cornbread were very good. The ox tail was still very good as well. The place doesn't seem as clean either and could be better managed. Still some very good home cooking here but it's no longer a slam dunk. I'll still give 4 stars on value bumoee like 3,5.

The food is always delicious - no doubt. HOWEVER, the service lacks professionalism, courtesy, clear communication and just care of the customer.

My best friend placed a catering order that had multiple components to include fried fish. The pickup was scheduled for 2pm ET. Logically, if you inform the customer that their PAID order would be ready at the designated pickup time you and your staff would properly prepare in order to meet that time. Naww, didn't happen!!

Front of the house staff was clueless and almost charged my friend again for an order she showed her was confirmed as paid. Not one manager, after asking multiple times came out to speak with me or my friend regarding the delayed order. We kept being told...they will be out when it's finished....10 mins...10 mins.

After voices were raised, food finally came out at 245pm ET. But still no manager. Waited 5 more mins for one to appear only to just stare at me as I explained the situation and the complete lack of (add whatever you want here).

Its disappointing that so much went into taking the catering order (which was placed almost a month in advance) and providing full payment, but when the day came...not even common decency was shown to a paying customer when things were not playing out as discussed.

The catering order was for a celebration of a loved one and plans were delayed due to this establishments poor planning and lack of communication. I personally won't be back even knowing how good the food actually is.

The food was excellent but the line took a long time. Just don't go in there during busy hours and be in a rush because you will have to wait! The food is worth the wait though lol

Every time I walk into Soul Food Bistro and see Michelle or Tonya together on the line, I know I'm in for a great experience. Their customer service skills are truly top-notch (honestly, I’ve never seen either of them in a bad mood). When they're both working, it's quite the dynamic duo; the line moves quickly, and the energy is high. Huge appreciation to both Michelle and Tonya, for consistently making my dining experiences enjoyable! Ladies, please forgive me if I spelled either of your names incorrectly.

Oxtail, mac & cheese, and potato salad are indeed delicious but not sure if worth the price and wait. Especially if you go on Sunday, expect a 30+ min wait.

Amazing food. Amazing staff. Interior is very dark with not great table lighting. There were three of us at lunch, we all ordered different items and everything was fantastic.

Vegetarian options: Most veggies cooked with meat. Delicious but not for strict vegetarians.
