Wow I saw the great reviews. I must have gone to the wrong one or maybe I was too black👎🏾​I was quite disappointed with my recent visit to Southern Ground Coffee. I had high hopes, but the execution and service fell flat across the board.First and foremost, the coffee itself was very weak. Unfortunately, the staff interactions were the worst part of the visit. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Southern Ground Coffee. The combination of a poor-quality product and poor customer service makes it unlikely I'll be returning.

Man this place is nice! The moment you crack their front door open, your nostrils will be your guide. Tom (Tom & Jerry) apple pie float over to the front desk and have their great choice of deliciousness cascade over your eyes. Be seduced by their deserts and joy'd by their food combinations. I had to order 2 different meals just to keep my curiosity calm. I think i frazzled the new cashier with my order. (Sorry if you're reading this). Their nutter-butter cookie was so creamy. I have like 3 more options that have me planning my next trip out. Please give their chicken flat a try!

This coffee shop is delightful. I do have an Infinity for trying various coffee shops and this was exceptional in every way. Bonus points as they carried Rainbow Sprinkle Cake dairy free.

Avondale, JAX, FL Location on St. Johns Ave.: The music is overly loud and leans toward rock, which makes the environment unpleasant for studying or holding conversations. The space itself amplifies the noise due to high ceilings, concrete flooring, and echoes from customers—even when it isn’t busy.

I ordered a 16oz latte that arrived lukewarm and had to be returned. The replacement was served with excessive foam despite specifically requesting no foam. Service was inattentive, and staff members were openly bickering within earshot, especially Wyatt. Overall, the employees appeared disengaged, unprofessional, and more focused on leaving than providing customer service.

The atmosphere is more reminiscent of a noisy cafeteria than a welcoming coffeehouse. Between the poor service, loud inappropriate music, and lack of professionalism, I will not be returning.
