Sweet Southern Skillet LLC is an unassuming little place that looks like a small barn on the corner of Bowden and Parental Home Road. It is a wonderful place with wonderful, no-frills, simple, homecooked Southern food you can’t beat. It is not just a breakfast spot but also offers lunch and dinner options, plus a huge selection of sweet treats and baked goods.
For breakfast, the smoked sausage grits bowl is a highlight, with plentiful and flavorful sausage, perfectly cooked eggs, and fluffy grits. The caramel swirl iced coffee is also a perfect balance of coffee, caramel, and cinnamon. Other items include hot dogs and fries, good old sweet tea, and daily specials like pot roast. The pumpkin pie and maple cupcakes are delicious.
The restaurant is a drive-thru type of place. It just opened, so there are a few hiccups while they get the process down, but the price is a steal and it is absolutely worth it. The owner is extremely friendly, sweet, kind, genuine, and beyond Southern sweet. It is a highly recommended spot for good food for a good price.
