This was my first visit to The Local. I'd booked an early (5:45) reservation there to see a local band and when I first arrived, really liked the look and ambiance of the place. And our server was really good. The rest, not good. Ordered a bottle of Kim Crawford. Out of it. Ordered a Mac n cheese app. On the menu, but no longer serving it. 6 Oysters. 1 good, the rest not edible, and so returned. Still charged for them but they agreed to cancel the order for the second half dozen. Mediterranean Salad. You had to shovel your way though the extremely garlic dressing to get to the salad. Mushroom rigatoni (which we took to go) was oily, and bland. The only highlight was the potato wedges. And the refills of Coke. Otherwise a very disappointing dinner.

Excellent food, we loved the blue goat 😋. Service was excellent and the restaurant is clean and beautifully laid out. Great place to eat, a must visit if you are in the area.

We ordered 2 southern redfish with collards and grits. My son picked up the order and we could not locate the grits to place the fish on top of. My son went back to the restaurant and they asked him to return back to the house and double check. He then went back to the restaurant with my husband and they explained there are no grits just a grit cake and asked them not to ever return to their restaurant. So a $22 piece of fish gets placed on a grit cake?! Even though the description of the meal states grits. We will not be returning. They were extremely rude and I guess customer service just doesn’t exist anymore.

One of the worst expiring my life. Ordered shrimp a grits and got hard grit cake which is not a good base for blackened redfish. When we took the food back 4 people bowed up and defended their brick!! This is a not good place and sandwiches are on that hard bread. Don’t waste your hard earned money

The best place to come when you’re in Jacksonville Florida. The customer service from Kate was phenomenal she was energetic, helpful consistent and communicative, the manager Paul was amazing as well he came to check up on us during our time here. Thank you all for the amazing hospitality and work that you do.
Asked a local, where is a good place to eat, and she recommended The Local. We each had the Hendrick burger with sweet potato fries. Very good and very filling.
