This place is laughable... there were 6 tables in the entire restaurant this morning for breakfast. Took us forever to order because our server was just wondering around talking to co workers. My husband ordered an omelet with bacon cheese and spinach and I ordered the avocado toast.I watched my avocado toast sit in the window under a heat lamp for a little over 15 minutes. The plate was so hot our server even had to carry it with a towel. When I felt how hot the plate was I touched the browned avocado and it was sweltering. I called the server back over and said it was too hot. And when I asked why she allowed it to sit under the heat lamp for that long she said it was because they took forever on the omelet...So I attempted to share the omelet with my husband and it was so disgusting. They didn't even use bacon it was like ham or something. After not receiving hot sauce for the 2nd time we paid our bill & left. No sight of a manager or anyone making sure everyone is doing their jobs. This whole hotel is a disaster. Also, would it kill you to play some soft music? We could hear peoples convos from across the room.

Dinner was as if with family. Able was our waiter who was ready to help guide us through the welcoming menu. He provided frank comments that help guide us in our selections...he was on target! His helpfulness was so much appreciated as insightful, we asked about local shopping recommendations because we were in search of a special Florida item....we were on vacation. Since he was not 100% confident, he requested permission and subsequently summoned support from William Hornsby, Assistant Outlets Manager at this Hyatt. William was as friendly and helpful as any person could be! We talked about his time in Ohio and elsewhere. He offered a couple markets for us to visit in the morning prior to our departure from Jacksonville. In addition, he offered us a small gift of a related item to take home. We stopped the next morning at one of the markets he suggested and found exactly what we were looking for. I'm not sure what he or Able could have done to make our first visit here more enjoyable! My only hope is the senior management at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville sees this...it is well deserved! I have been a Diamond/Globalist member with Hyatt for nearly 30 years and this is why! Just when you think you might be numb to great service, folks like Able and William enter your travels and make a lasting impression!

Nice breakfast buffet with omelets made for you. $27.99 includes coffee and juice. The staff was very friendly.

Staying at the Hyatt while attending a convention. I decided to have dinner here Friday night before getting my evening started. For an appetizer I decided on a cup of the soup of the day (potato & beef). It was seasoned very well, I loved the thick cuts of potato. For my entree I chose the Cajun salmon. This dish comes with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The asparagus was as expected. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm. The salmon was good. There was very little seasoning, let alone spice to the dish so I'm not sure what aspect made it 'Cajun' but the creamy butter sauce it was lathered in was tasty and made the dish go from bland to bearable. Customer service was lacking. It was a busy night but our waiter was as inattentive as possible. So much so that after we'd finished our meal, had our tables cleared and had been sitting what felt like FOREVER for the check, he finally returns and asks "your food hasn't come yet?" Completely oblivious! This same waiter had two other tables complain about his service just within the span of time we were dining. Safe to say, I won't be back here for the remainder of our stay.

After an unusually long drive due to weather issues, we were famished by the time we checked in (around 6:30 pm). Having done some research ahead of time, I suggested we give Shor a try, especially since there was a huge convention and the hotel lobby bar, Tavern, was packed. We were seated right away, and service was quick and friendly - otherwise, Shor would be getting the dreaded 1-star review. We each ordered a glass of wine. Here is where the puzzlement started. Pours were either a (measly) 5 ounces (why? you get 4 6-ounce pours from a bottle of wine??) or 7 ounces. Apps: the burrata sounded promising! Balsamic glaze? Prosciutto? Oh man, they ruined a decent piece of burrata...on a plate were: a piece of ok burrata that was HEAVILY SALTED - ... a HEAP of RAW generic prosciutto...raw bread (crostini). No tomatoes. One drop of balsamic vinegar - not a glaze. Nothing to meld flavors (had there been any). The fried green tomatoes were just ok - sliced too thinly so it was 75% breading to 25% tomato; we nixed the pimiento cheese (can't stand it & way too heavy for the dish) and opted for avocado ranch. Our server was pushing entrees on us - none really appealed to us and they were all $35+ We happened to see another table order fish tacos...which were advertised in the elevator as being served at the Tavern bar (adjacent to Shor). We inquired...and our server said yes, we could order them. As well as other bar food/small plates. I didn't like the fact that he hadn't shared that with us on his own... We did order the fish tacos. The tortillas were cold and bland. Fish was not seasoned well nor was it crispy. Just blah. Do yourselves a favor and walk 30 feet further - and pay just a tad more for Happy Hour specials at Morton's. A whole different universe.

We appeared to be the only diners but the service was very slow. The food was not up to the standard I would expect for the price we paid. We ordered a steak done medium rare but had to send it back because it was very rare. Even after it came back the second time it was still quite bloody. Plus in the second plate the fingerling potatoes were undercooked. We were not given any discount for the disappointing food. The waiter brought us desserts instead, even though we would not have ordered a dessert. We were charged $50 for a bottle of wine that we often buy at home for $13. I would not return, nor would I recommend this restaurant.

Whenever we head to downtown Jacksonville for a musical concert, or event, this is our go to restaurant. It's located in the lobby of the Hyatt. Plenty of convenient free street parking, ( and also a parking garage for a fee) just across the street. It's located on the St Johns Riverfront and a couple blocks away is the Florida Theater. The food here is always good. And there is always a variation with the menu, depending on your taste. Highly recommend!

For a hotel lobby eatery, this one is nice. I haven't had any food I didn't enjoy, on a couple of visits now. The staff is friendly, too.

Turkey dinner was ok. Pumpkin pie was terrible though. Way too much allspice like that's all you could taste.

. OK, but not anywhere level expected of a Hyatt. Burger so-so, kinda like McD's. Fries better. Great Waiter Guy made up for some of it. There are some better restaurants some 3 blocks behind the hotel. Rick .

I don't typically leave reviews but I felt it was warranted this time after the service received at the bar portion of shor. We went after a football game and ordered drinks at the bar. When seating became available at a table we moved. The bartender came over a short time after to tell us she couldn't find us (for our appetizer) and that we had to close out with her before going to a table service. We apologized and she said she'd be back to close us out. 30 minutes later and she hadn't come back so we asked a waiter about placing an order for food and he informed us that because we had a tab open, we had to keep ordering from the bar. We informed him she was supposed to close us out and he said she would be right over to do so. She still didn't come so we went to the bar to close out to hopefully be able to finally place a dinner order and she proceeded to talk about the next time we come. I understand they were probably busier than normal because of the game, but we spend 1.5 hours there just trying to eat/close out is a bit unacceptable.

We had dinner here with family and coworkers. The food was decent, but the staff were exceptionally helpful, especially because I had my toddler with me. They provided coloring paper to keep her entertained while we waited for our food.

Good location. Staff needs some work in the customer service department. Not very polite on the phone when called from room. Kitchen kept me on hold for an hour when I asked to do in room dining. When trying to get mail from up front. It took a while to get anyone to help. Kept getting the run around.

Great location. All staff were very helpful. Employees out front greeted us every time. Morton’s was great. Glad it was there. Also like lobby bar. Clean room and great River view. We will certainly stay again.

This hotel was very clean, and the location is awesome, and the staff was very helpful. However, for the price and the name brand and overall, first impression, I thought rooms would be more furnished.
