I've been looking for a new favorite sushi place and this is it!!

This place hits all the rights chords and may be one of the best sushi spots in the Jax area.
Our server was superb too.

Glad we gave this place a go!!!

We recently discovered Volcano Japanese Cuisine in a local neighborhood shopping center. We tried it for lunch this week and it was an excellent experience.

The service was excellent. Our first impression of the restaurant was that it was a small, family-type restaurant with a sushi bar and a pleasant atmosphere that seats a few patrons.

The sushi rolls that I tried (shrimp tempura and lobster) were excellent. The taste was superb and the appearance of the rolls was exceptional.

My dining companion had a shrimp hibachi dish. It was a considerable amount of food, well-prepared. The shrimp had a good flavor and was not overdone—a common problem that often leads to dry and tough meat.

Overall, this was an excellent experience and well worth a try for those not familiar with the restaurant.

I had such a great experience at Volcano.The food looked amazing.especially the sashimi , which was beautifully arranged with super fresh ingredients. Everything tasted just as good as it looked. The octopus was really tender, and the tuna and salmon were super fresh and flavorful.
The presentation was impressive, and you can tell they put a lot of care into what they serve. The staff was also really friendly and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

The food and location are great.
My server was a little slow.
I watched our sushi sit on the counter for 8-10 minutes while she was in the back somewhere?
Not busy enough to warrant that?

If you are just a lowly delivery driver that works for a third party app you will be treated with no respect.

They will sit on their phone the entire time and ignore you.

The atmosphere is one that screams they don't want you or your kind there

Big hair in my bento box and my soft shell carb was ripped apart. Trashed it all. Can’t eat carry out that has hair in it. I posted pictures of I knew how.

I have been to both locations for Volcano sushi and I love them both. Very good food and freshly made. There was a large variety of menu items and decent price for what you get. Every roll my family ordered was fantastic and was very flavorful. The food took longer than expected but not unbearable and I knew it was being made fresh. By the time we left the place was getting busy so I'm glad we beat the dinner rush! I also saw a birthday event on one side so I may have to keep that in mind as a small event space. 5/5 I will eat here again

Vegetarian options: Many rolls have crab or fish inside.

Parking: Parking spaces are tight but plentiful

Kid-friendliness: Music can be loud inside and the interior can be somewhat dark but a child should be fine

Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp to the sidewalk is next door
