Woody's Bar-B-Q - Jacksonville (University)

My husband and I went to check it out since it has new owners. The food was hot and the taste was better than ever. I definitely recommend this place now. The Carolina Hash was great! Congratulations to the new owners, you brought this place back on our dining list.

LESSON LEARNED....NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
Bought a Birthday lunch for my co-worker & myself. I bought 2 BBQ Chicken lunch plates, and they charged me extra for the BBQ Sauce!...Chicken was small......BBQ Beans were void of any flavor, and the fries were VERY greasy, & soggy.....I wish I would have spent my hard earned money somewhere else.....after this experience, I think even McDonalds ( which I will never eat) would have been a better choice......If you are in the mood for BBQ, I think Woody's is not it.....try Sonny's or Bono's.

THANK YOU to the Bearded Pig who not only immediately accommodated us but also apologized for how we were treated elsewhere.
As my family had just left a funeral we decided to grab lunch at Woody’s BBQ, LLC on University and Atlantic Blvd. We had also called 3 days before to let them know. We had requested a set up for 25 people, we ended up with 2 additional. When got there we were set up for 20 people and had asked for another table and some chairs.
The MANAGER (who knew we had just left a funeral )was bringing a chair and had directly told us: we should have chosen a bigger restaurant to accommodate us.
After that she then proceeded to yell at us and told us that we needed to leave.
A grieving family group who simply wanted to enjoy lunch and time together was kicked out of this restaurant.

Again thank you to the Bearded Pig for being so kind and apologizing on Woodys behalf.
Not a single apology from Woodys! Do better!!

Manager and waitress were very rude to our group of 25. Thank goodness I met the owner outside and told her how bad we were treated by hostess and waitress

Food is always awesome but please don't ask gor delivery. Especially Uber eats they charged me $36+ for an $18+ order

Delicious as always. Server was very nice,sorry I don't remember her name. Kennedy at the register was very helpful when I bought 3 mustard barbecue sauces. Been dining at Woody's for years. Was just in Jacksonville for a memorial service. Home now. Thanks!

I was expecting really good meat but what I got was left overs from maybe yesterday, the food was cold the beans looked like they just open a can of green beans, really disappointed cuz I spend a lot of money on this lunch expecting good quality I WOULD NEVER BE BACK IN THAT PLACE ??

We came here because back in the day this was the BBQ place… the parking lot looked full and we were excited. To our dismay, we came into the restaurant and there was not a single soul other than staff in sight and that should’ve been the indicator to walk back out. We sat down to order and ordered our food. Our order was wrong, undercooked at best, and they forgot to tell us they didn’t have some of the items until we went up to the counter to let her know. She giggle and said” I forgot to tell you but we’re out of that”. Kristie serving is not your forte especially when you only had one table in the whole restaurant. Long story, short horrible service even worse food.

1 hr wait for food, 40 minutes for check, 1 meal so dry inedible, 2 of us got ill before we even left the restaurant and then for hours after.Don't do it!

I went there to pick up some BBQ to take to work the next day. I had to explain 3 times the I wanted just meet in a cup instead of a plate. I also wanted shredded bbq I got sliced instead. It tasted ok but the meat definitely wasn't smoked. The whole crew including the manager are idiots. At least the cashier was new and had a reason.That was the worst experience I've ever had and I really should have walked out. I wouldn't recommend that place to anybody, and I usually don't give bad reviews. That is saying a lot!
