Snook's Bayside Restaurant & Grand Tiki

We stopped in on our way back from Key West and so glad we did. My husband had the lobster bite appetizer and I had the lobster reuben(delicious). The view was amazing. We sat at the bar and Kevin was a breath of fresh air. It’s so hard to find great service anymore and he was super awesome, yes I said it, super awesome. Definitely would come back.

Just a rum drink in a coconut cup. Its not chilled , drilled and filled like the menu says. Its a little misleading and its 15 dollars and the same drink without the coconut cup is only 8 dollars on happy hour which is when we came. So i would have figured the bartender might have suggested that. But I guess its not about saving the customer money its all about how high the guess check is for tip purposes. Well, I guess we were playing tourist so I guess it makes it ok to rip us off 🙄

This place was great, the sunset was beautiful and the food was delicious!! The service was not 5 but 10 stars, Lisa was great. If you want a chill afternoon, I recommend coming here for good food, good views, and good vibes.

Beautiful place! A great place to come for sunset and enjoy a nice cold beverage or dinner. The food was great and friendly quick service. The musician playing added the perfect ambience. I’ll go back next time I’m in the keys.

Mahi with lemon butter sauce capers almonds green beans and au gratin potatoes. It was absolutely delicious. Well worth the $30.00. My husband had the surf and turf with a crab cake on top. We stop here every time we go to the keys. The sunset was gorgeous. The staff as nice as the day is long.

My husband and I have visited Snooks twice since vacationing in Key Largo. Great drinks, great food and awesome patio for the sunset! The peanut butter pit is so delicious and the Snooks Ultimate I decision has everything you could want! Easy to split between two or three! The shrimp cocktail appetizer is amazing! HUGE shrimp cooked perfectly! Both yellowtail dishes are also very tasty! I might have favored my husbands a bit more, he chose the pistachio crusted yellow tail. The Conch fritters are good, but I’m not sure if I was getting some shell or just really fried pieces- but tasted nice. Their Key Lime pie is their best dessert as they claim. Wasn’t my favorite Key Lime pie a little too tart/bitter but they chocolate mouse pie is very delicious!

I was visiting key largo today with a group of friends and family. We were a large group of 18 people, and 5 of us ordered the “catch of the day.” The experience was very disappointing: the fish did not taste fresh, it was breaded and fried, and it had absolutely no flavor. One person sent the dish back right away, two others ate it out of politeness, and my husband and I left most of it on the plate because it was simply not edible. Only the first plate that was returned right away was deducted from the bill.

At the end, we asked to speak with the manager to request at least a refund for those dishes, but her response was that “the company makes the rules” and there was nothing she could do. She also said the servers told her we had eaten almost all of the fish, which was not true.

It’s unacceptable that five different people all agreed the fish tasted bad or had no flavor, and that the restaurant management took no responsibility. A place that serves fish as a main dish should ensure freshness and quality, and above all, handle customer complaints in a much better way.

I would not recommend this restaurant, especially if you are looking for fresh seafood or customer service that values the dining experience.

Overall 4/5 stars. We got pistachio mahi wrap which was great. The grilled chicken sandwich was average. French fries were delicious. Key lime pie was also average. There was a lime syrup on top that we did not love. The vibes & view were amazing. I would go back.
