The location is perfect for the sunset, hints the name, but the food and service were definitely sub par. The food tasted like it came out the freezer bags. I have been here in the past and the food was better. The waiter was maybe new or learning but it was not a great experience. Broken glass, missing part of the meal. The meal came out at different times just a not great.

Amazing spot to enjoy the Keys sunset! Great food, super fresh and tasty. Relaxed vibe, friendly service, and unbeatable views right by the water. Definitely worth a visit. Gabriel is the best!!!

I had such a wonderful experience thanks to our server, Cassie. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, welcoming, and attentive without ever being overbearing. She checked in at just the right times, made sure our drinks were always full, and answered every question with genuine patience and a smile. What really stood out was how friendly and personable she was—she made us feel like more than just customers. Her positive energy and professionalism made the entire dining experience so much better. You can tell she truly cares about providing excellent service.

The only nice thing about this place was the sunset view. Everything else was a disappointment. From the moment we sat down, the waitress made us feel unwelcome, as if she just wanted us to eat quickly and leave. She never smiled once, forgot our orders unless we repeated them, and when we asked for a lighter, she kept saying “don’t steal my lighter” in a rude tone. Even when bringing the check, she acted with the same unpleasant attitude.
The worst part was after sunset — we thought we could enjoy our meal and drinks outside, but the whole outdoor seating area was swarmed with mosquitoes. We had to run inside before even starting our food. I doubt this is a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence, but the restaurant had zero precautions against it, which was shocking.
The food definitely does not match the high prices. The $14 mojito was basically a mint lemonade with barely any alcohol. The dishes also were nowhere near worth what they charged.
If you’re thinking of visiting, I’d recommend just watching the sunset and then eating somewhere else. At least you’ll save your money and avoid the disappointing experience.

What a fabulous evening! We attended a sunset boat ride and then planned on a bar hop from one spot to another. The second spot we hit was Sundowners and we ended up closing on it night there. Isabella was a phenomenal server. I’m awful at making decisions and she helped me decide what to eat and drink - the baked seafood platter & the Arnold Palmer w/ peach whiskey. Both were wonderful. She was attentive and friendly and we look forward to coming here the next time we’re in Key Largo. I would recommend Sundowners to anyone.

I went there for breakfast with my fiancé and our server Nelly was great. She suggested a couple popular items & we ordered biscuits & gravy, shrimp & grits & the key lime pancakes. The portions were nice & generous for the price & the view was amazing. The food came out quick & hot & perfect to taste. The facilities were clean and the staff was friendly as well. They all greeted me as I made my way to use the restroom. I will definitely recommend this spot to my friends as it checked all the boxes for a great experience.

Expensive and $35 for overcooked pasta with 4 shrimp and 3 scallops is crazy. Just bland and no taste. Beautiful view, but not worth the price of the food- except the key lime pie which was good- even if the whip cream was more just heavy cream than whipped cream.

Melodie is the sweetest, Most real bartender. She spent so much time chatting with us. We will be back first time in the keys and I would say we will never not stop here especially if she’s working about to have some delicious food. Can’t wait fish everywhere and we even seen a manatee.

We stopped in on a Friday morning for breakfast. Walked up to the bar and were not greeted by the bartender at all the guy just said bars not open right now ok no worries so we sit down at a table but then the waitress proceeds to mess up all 3 of our orders probably because she did not write it down. We were the only other table there at the time and our food took around 35 min. The whole time there is a dj playing club music to no one but us just trying to enjoy a great atmosphere by the water. Disappointed in the service more than the food it was ok.

Great food and location (sunset from the dock very picturesque). Service from Mario A was prompt and just very right in terms of being attentive but not too in your face while eating, plus he takes a great photo.
