Lived here a long time and finally went to their Truman Avenue (Rte 1) location. It was very good.

We recently visited Key West and stayed around the corner from this restaurant, so had to give it a try (I love Italian).

The first night we went, my husband and I shared one of the daily specials. It was fine - nothing exciting and expensive for what we received.

Again, because it was so convenient, we decided to give it another try. One of my favorite Italian meals is linguini with white clam sauce. Their dish had very little flavor, and I only had red pepper flakes to enhance it (see note below about parmesan). Essentially, I sent back the entire meal. The server had no comment/apology and did not take it off our bill.

This may sound unimportant to some, but they only serve the grated, buy-in-bulk parmesan cheese. For me, often the cheese makes the meal which proved to be true especially in these dining experiences. I overhead someone at another table ask for the same - something so simple for them to provide.

I will add that on both evenings the servers were attentive, except that I hoped the second server would have offered a replacement meal, dessert, a glass of wine, etc.

Good choice! Large menu plus specials. Variety of pastas plus seafood, chicken and more. House salad and Linguine with seafood in a tomato sauce were my choices. I’d order both again. Large salad and it came with house Italian dressing but it was bland - or perhaps heavy on oil. The seafood on my linguine was plentiful and large shrimp were highlights - the lobster was tough - I had to push the knife hard to cut through it - I don’t think it was overcooked but it was not satisfying. The sauce was spicier than I anticipated. I probably would have preferred the chicken special. Focaccia bread isn’t Italian bread - why not serve hard crusted real Italian bread? And a glass of Chianti at $14! It’s ridiculous. Good service. Huge restaurant but it wasn’t busy tonight. Free parking in the lot across the street - you have to pay to park on the street.

Abbondanza was a block from the hotel where my wife and I were staying in Key West. We are always up for Italian food so decided to give it a try. It turned out to be the best dining experience of our trip. The host gave us choice of seating and we opted to sit in a back corner in a “sofa booth” - like sitting on a really comfortable sofa with dining table in front of you. The restaurant is nicely furnished and decorated - gives it a casual, comfortable feel. The waitstaff were very friendly and helpful - answering our questions about food items. My wife ordered the Chicken Florentine and I had the Chicken Piccata. My wife and I both agreed that the food was amazing. I was also happy that they served one of my favorite wines (Ruffino Pinot Grigio). This was one of the most pleasant and enjoyable dining experiences we’ve had in a while. We paid a little more than what we normally pay for a meal but it was well worth it!

Nice Italian restaurant at the quieter side of Old Town. Good food and services. We came in for dinner based on theirs good reviews one night during our trip and we were not disappointed! The Hugo cocktail is really refreshing especially in hot weather, I can sip it all day :D We tried the perfectly Roasted Brussels Sprouts special appetizer of the day, and Fried Calamari. Hubby opted for the special-Shrimp Fra Diacvolo, and I had the Linguine Pescatore. Big portion on all dishes and both pasta were tasty but just a bit too saucey to our liking.

Excellent food, above average friendly service and a warm cozy atmosphere! Spaghetti & meatballs and eggplant parm were both plentiful & delicious! Cool little bar, not a bad seat in the place! Looking forward to coming back again next year.

Really good food and service in a lovely setting central to Key West! Just one block off Duval is a this quiet, unsuspecting little place totally worth stopping in to! The fried mozz was perfectly prepared - crispy outside, gooey inside, thick savory sauce. The caprese salad was a generous portion with peak ripeness tomatoes and cheese. I don't often see mushroom alfredo dishes, so I went for it and was very pleased with the clearly scratch made alfredo sauce and heaps of mushrooms. My partner loved her pasta primavera! The serving of tiramisu is delicious and huge, definitely for sharing! Shout out to Marquesa for being our server as we practically closed the joint that night. :)

Everything was great - we had spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmigiana, fish and veggies, and 2 appetizers- everything was great, as always.

Excellent service and cozy atmosphere our meals were amazing! We ate the veal and fresh fish picatta Tiramisu for dessert perfect!

Our first time here. We had heard good things. First of all, our server was Danielle, absolutely delightful. However the meal was a bit of a letdown. I had the veal marsala. It was tough and fatty. It came with a side of broccoli and roasted potatoes. Hubby had chicken parm. It was okay. The meals were average price for the local. But nothing to write home about. Lovely romantic atmosphere. If you go hopefully you will have a better experience

Excellent food and service. Clean bathroom. Nicely decorated well kept, not neglected like other places. Much larger than it looks.
