Lady who was the bartender (said she had been there forever) was just so passive aggressive with so many of the customers who ordered drinks. We watched it occur customer after customer. Perhaps working for so long you get frustrated by the questions but most of the customers it was their first time visiting and she was just a bad representation of the business.

Amazing Amazing, Amazing ! There was not one thing about our dinner that wasn't absolutely perfect and delicious. Our server was attentive and so knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Our appetizer, our salads, the conch chowder just so delicious. The yellow snapper with mango and cucumber salsa, was so fresh and light, I never clean my plate and I didn't leave a crumb for my husband! We are usually in Key West once or twice a year and we will be back the atmosphere is fantastic too!

I've gone to Louie's since 1989 sept 22 nd.Today was my 48th wedding anniversary I booked ahead of time . Service was impeccable but seemed a little rushed. We ordered the catch of the day. Tried to bites! worst meal ive ever eaten in Key West!! I believe they microwaved the dinner. So goes Key West, times change life moves on. So do I. I will never return.

We were expecting a fine dining experience given the reviews stating white tablecloth & reservations needed. Even looking at the menu and prices, fine dining is presumed, to include nicely dressed, i.e. business casual but this was definitely not the case: shorts, hula shirts, leggings and tracksuits… We were seated exactly at our reservation time and handed menus. The atmosphere was pleasant though the bar area stated getting louder as the night went on. Understand that the menu is somewhat limited. Our waitress was an older lady that seemed annoyed for most of the evening and very dismissive of us, yet friendly toward other patrons. My wife loved her fish but my steak was very flavorless, with the exception of char, and not cooked evenly throughout. We were given dessert menus but waited another 10-15 minutes before she came back to take our requests. Dessert was delicious for both of us. The bill was $153 and I provided 2 $100 bills. The waitress actually said do you want change? Umm, yes! Change came back with 2 20s and some ones, as if to say I expect at least a $40 tip. Thankfully I had more cash in my wallet and was able to give what I thought was appropriate ($30) which was 20%, rather generous in my opinion given her attitude. Overall it was overpriced and the waitress ruined the experience. If you’ve got the $ and think fine dining includes beachwear, this restaurant is right up your alley.

These were the best meals we had during our stay! Yes, we enjoyed it so much and were so curious to try more items on the menu that we went twice. This is such a cute restaurant located inside a keys style house overlooking the ocean, and the food and service certainly back up the ambiance. Our first night, we were early enough to catch the sunset and sat inside. The second time, we sat outside on the patio overlooking the water. Ambiance, ambiance, ambiance. From the menu items we tried, I will list our favorites and the must haves in caps: FLORIDA LOBSTER BRAISED IN TRUFFLE BUTTER, conch chowder, BACON WRAPPED SEA SCALLOPS for apps, and swordfish, SESAME SEARED TUNA, FILET for mains. I don't feel like you can go wrong with any of their options, but those were our favorites. Additionally, Stacy was an amazing waitress with great recommendations and a funnier personality. I will be dreaming of our next trip back to the keys, just so I can dine here again!

Solid food, nice drinks with a great view. This is one of my favorite restaurants on the island. The lunch menu is surprisingly reasonable, but dinner can get pricey. Love the upstairs for sunset but lately the chef or food service hasn't been consistent.

Amazing, romantic dinner! If you are looking for a candlelit, Oceanside dinner, this is the place. Reasonably priced for amazing food.

New Year’s Day tradition and did not disappoint. Last couple years were good but wow this year back to great as we have always enjoyed for many years.

We have been dining here for years and it is always an unforgettable experience. The menu changes according to what is in season, but some staples can always be found such as the Florida lobster braised in truffle butter, spinach and prosciutto. If you enjoy lobster then this dish, served as an appetizer, will not disappoint. The fresh catch is creatively prepared every time. The staff are always friendly and quick to offer recommendations. Our server last night (wish I remembered her name) was a delight. She even told us about the recipe for their Florida lobster that can be found in their cookbook that is available for purchase. The location and ambiance are probably the finest in Key West. Come early for the sunset and enjoy a cocktail at the After Deck bar or tables while listening to the waves crash against their deck or stay for an after dinner drink under the moonlight at the After Deck bar. I do recommend booking as far in advance as possible as they do book up well in advance. While they do accept walk-ins at the upstairs cafe, the experience downstairs is incomparable.

Everyone we knew who visits Key West told us to book a dinner at Louies Backyard. My mom was super thrilled about this because when she was a child, she played in the backyard of this house with her close friend Sam. Now it's a restuarant and supposedly good. I thought it was ok. You have to call to make a reservation. However, if you call back to double check your time and day.... it was a hassle for them to check. I made the reservation three weeks before arriving. We ate outside on the back deck. The table was tight for 5 and not a great spot but whatever, it was fine. The waitress seemed annoyed. Sorry you had to work two days before Christmas but next time; I don't want to know you're annoyed or feel rushed. We didn't get a discount for dealing with you. Food was average. I did love my tuna tar-tar but all the meat dishes were cold or luke warm. My sister hated her pork chops. Salads were dry and dissapointing. Fish items were good. Smell of the seaweed was a bummer but no one's fault. I researched a lot of restaurants before our Key West visit. This one the most disappointing.

Louie's was our first dinner in Key West and our favorite! Our meal was the best meal we had and it was a fabulous experience and ambiance. We sat outside and enjoyed our table and the views. Our server wasn't' overly friendly, but we had no issues. Get the bread, OMG THE BREAD was SO good. All of us had delicious meals, all 8 of us, not one complaint. A few people got the special, and enjoyed it. The food was rich, flavorful, and good sized portions. All in all highly recommend and would absolutely return!

Beautiful patio with gorgeous sunset views. Location is slightly off the beaten path which is a nice change of pace from Old Town. Parking was easy. Resos by phone only which is my only gripe but not a biggie (and my husband actually appreciated the old school touch :) Food was really wonderful. And our server was lovely, took pics for us and we never felt rushed.

A regular on our winter trips to Key West - never disappoints. Drinks on the deck for fabulous sunset views; marvelous meal; service was just right. Beef Filet, Swordfish and Double Lamb Chops were all excellent. Wine selection was good, with a wide range of prices.
