I am a local for 45 yrs now... ordered food to go... fried shrimp were boiled first... yuk. fish tasted like bloodline.. never again.. too pricey for the quality... supposed Chef awards... a true Chef does not boil shrimp before frying..

Nothing too fancy but the quality of food was amazing for the price. My margarita was made w fresh squeezed lime, the peel & eat shrimp huge and flavorful. Grouper was good. Kids loved real lemonade, shrimp basket n spaghetti/meat balls, and especially the yummy huge brownie cake.

Cute island decor, but that's the only thing this place has going for it. The restaurant had a strong musty smell when we walked in. Service was inattentive and frustrating—we had to ask three times for napkins while eating peel-n-eat shrimp, and never got them. My husband ended up walking into the kitchen to get some.
The food was disappointing. Dry fish, overcooked shrimp (despite waiting 30 minutes), and a potato salad full of oversized celery chunks. We also ran out of drinks and were never offered a refill until the check arrived—then we were asked if we wanted tea to go. ~ No, we wanted tea with the meal.
Overall, it was a poor dining experience. We do not recommend.

Excellent pizza. I would say it was the best pizza we have had in the Keys. Cooked crispy the way we wanted it and the veggies were crispy and not over cooked. Prices were very good. I highly recommend.

We sat outside with our labrador. Our waiter, Mike, was friendly and efficient. The beer was cold and the food was good. We had conch strip. They are homemade. We had delicious chicken wings, fried green tomatoes and a Caesar salad. I will definitely be back.

Worst Customer Service in the Keys!!! After eating here for over a year, I’ve often brought my puppy in to eat with me and my daughter (as we live a block away) and have never had any issues as it’s a dog friendly place. Well, today as we walked in the owner came out from behind the kitchen and told us we can’t eat in there with our dog. I asked why? And she promptly replied “because, I’m the owner and I said so”. Not only did she make a scene for no reason, she made my daughter cry and ultimately ruined our daddy-daughter dinner date. I will never step foot in this establishment and will be sure to let everyone know how rude and nasty the owners are and how the treat adults, children and dogs. Definitely the WORST EXPERIENCE FOR DINING!!!
Not worth your time. Servers are suffering because management doesn't care and the kitchen manager should be fired.

What a crappy place. We waited 2 hours to be told they didn’t have what we ordered because they served a 12 top that got our food we asked for even though they, and 3 other tables came in after us. The manger said she couldn’t care less that we were ignored, the food wasn’t what we ordered etc and she wasn’t willing to discount. She was dismissive 0 stars - wouldn’t recommend or return.

I am not one to trash local places, being that I am a local, however my family was in town and because of my love for Bobalu's, wanted to go. We arrived between 6/630 on a Friday night, and yes I know it's season, and places our order by 645, at 7:53 we were finally brought our food, after watching 4 larger parties that ordered after us, get their food, eat and pay, only to be told that 3 of us were not getting part what we ordered because they had run out. We ordered one pizza, and 3 country fries steaks with green beans and mashed potatoes. No mashed potatoes. I know it was busy, The server was great and tried to keep us informed. A manager should have come to the table at some point. Their should have been an apology at some point. As a restaurant manager myself, I would never ignore a patron that felt neglected. After I was given the check, with no apology or any concerns from management, I should have walked out. But I am not that person. I still tipped the server on the full amount. I am sorry that they got my money. It will definitely be the last time I go there. Such a shame I wasted quality time with my family at a place who doesn't care about their patrons.
