this is an absolute 10/10. delicious local owned place that I would 100% get more of if I lived close. the key lime mustard? I've never had a sauce more delicious. just tangy enough, has a little zip. the conch fritters? 10/10. fried absolutely perfectly with the right amount of flavors that nothing overpowers anything else.
Love their conch fritters, and eat next to the fountain outside the aquarium. There 100% my go to in the late morning after an evening of adult beverages, the perfect amount or carbs and grease to feel better. For a quick bite to eat on the west end, grab a few conch fritters with the spicy mayo (the right way to serve them like they do in the Bahamas, not with cocktail sauce like everyone here tries to serve them with) and the key lime mustard sauce.

My husband and I come to Key West each year. We have never tried conch fritters before… so this time it was our mission to find the best real conch fritter in Key West. We first tried Caroline’s and have to say it is second best because they only serve it with cocktail sauce. Awesome fritter however! The absolute best is The Conch Shack, really yummy sauces and comes with fresh lime to squeeze as a plus. Not gummy and oily like the competitor Key West Conch Fritters, a small cart outside the KW Aquarium. I have to be honest, we did not go to the Conch Republic and try their fritters. Conch shack is the winner so far, yummy and lots of flavor. Light and fluffy not oily or gummy.

Nothing special, but decent fried foods.

It was good, I don't think I'd ever say "the best!". Maybe if I was 3 sheets to the wind already, but then everything fried tastes good. Barely any conch in them, closer to hush puppies. The key lime mustard is delicious though...saved the whole endeavor. All in all I'd say they're good enough to get the gist, but if you have the time to find somewhere else to try them I would do that.

The best conch fritters we found in Key West. Around $10-12 per dozen, hand-made. She's in a food truck near the Maritime museum.
