After wrapping up a long, adventurous snorkeling trip, my wife and I were hungry and looking for something authentic—and Key West Cuban Coffee exceeded every expectation we had and more.
From the moment we walked in, it was clear this place is special, and that is entirely because of the owner, Carolina. She is incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuine, and you can immediately feel the love and care she pours into both her restaurant and her guests. Carolina greeted us with a smile, took the time to talk with us, and made us feel less like customers and more like welcomed guests in her home.
What truly stood out was her passion for Cuban culture and her commitment to authenticity. Carolina patiently walked us through the menu, offering her honest recommendations and explaining which dishes best represent traditional Cuban flavors. Her knowledge, pride, and excitement were contagious—it was clear that this is not just a business to her, but a reflection of her heritage and her life’s work.
We decided on the Cuban sandwich and the chicken club sandwich, and both were nothing short of phenomenal. The Cuban sandwich was perfectly balanced, rich, and flavorful, with fresh ingredients and incredible attention to detail. The chicken club was equally impressive—savory, well-seasoned, and incredibly satisfying. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared, not rushed or mass-produced.
As we talked more, Carolina shared that she opened the restaurant herself about eight years ago, and that personal investment shows in every single dish she serves. She truly puts her heart into her food, and it’s rare to find that level of care and pride anymore.
We also had the pleasure of trying her Key lime pie, and it deserves special recognition. Carolina makes her pies completely from scratch—nothing frozen, nothing shipped in. She uses real, freshly squeezed lime juice, something many places in Key West unfortunately no longer do. The result is a pie that is fresh, perfectly tart, and absolutely unforgettable.
The entire experience—from the food, to the conversation, to the hospitality—was exceptional. Carolina’s kindness, authenticity, and dedication to quality left a lasting impression on us. This is the kind of place you remember long after your trip ends.
If you’re in Key West and looking for truly authentic Cuban food made with love by someone who genuinely cares about her craft and her customers, Key West Cuban Coffee is an absolute must-visit. We are incredibly grateful for the experience and cannot wait to return.
Thank you, Carolina, for your warmth, generosity, and unforgettable food.

Totally a scam. We ordered a iced latte and a black coffee. The price on the menu is about $3-$4 each cup. But they charge us $16.95 first two medium-sized coffee. The barista said because we ordered iced coffee the price is $6.99 each cup. And they even charge $1 extra for the syrup. Totally doesn't make any sense. They charge $3 extra Just for ice???

Very disappointed with my experience. The empanada was extremely over-spiced with black pepper, making it inedible. I also ordered a guava pastry but was given a guava empanada instead. The mango smoothie was poor in quality and not worth the time or money. Overall, the food did not resemble authentic Cuban cuisine, and there are much better options in Key West. I would not recommend this place.

Wonderful place to grab co, or a meal.
Didn't have traditional Cuban sandwich on the menu. Cuban mix doesn't disclose pork. Sandwich came with pork on it. Menu shows W/FF. When food came, we asked where the fries were and were told we could order fries, which we declined. Cafe con Leche was mediocre at best. Croquets were good.

Not for real coffee drinker. Make the espresso with pre made coffee grind.... disappointing. Coffee taste super strong and bitter.

This fantastic little gem was right by our VRBO. Everything from coffee to food was delicious. They easily accommodated my food allergies. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and even provided us with a first aid kit late one evening! Hecho con amor!

Fantastic spot for authentic Cuban breakfast and coffee. The Cuban Breakfast with Cuban toast was outstanding, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Their cortadito and cappuccino were some of the best I’ve had anywhere. It’s a small, cozy place with only two people working the counter and kitchen, so service can take a little longer, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. Friendly vibe, great flavors, and genuine Cuban hospitality.
