Why we often eat breakfast at home while we travel, when we are in Key West La Grignote is always a breakfast experience we wouldn’t miss. Together with a large assortment of amazing baked in house pastries, this restaurant offers a large selection of breakfasts to suit any preference, as well as many variations of Eggs Benedict with authentic hollandaise sauce. If you’re walking down Duvall Street in the morning and hungry, this restaurant should definitely be on your list.

Our stop for breakfast on a Sunday morning was really a spur of the moment kind of thing. La Grignote seemed like a nice place on the top side of Duval and the porch seating looked inviting. Our server did not speak much English though we were able to place our order. For this meal, I chose the American Breakfast and my wife had the Bacon, Egg, and Swiss cheese croissant. While my eggs were scrambled wet, meaning a little runny, so it was on me to tell the server to cook them drier? What disappointed me most was the sub-par bacon they used. Nothing like what it looked like on the menu/website, La Grignote used pre-cooked bacon and proceeded to over reheat it. It literally crumbled as you touched it. The 12-hour potatoes really weren't "all that" though I will say the piece of toasted and buttered sourdough bread was delicious. The bacon, egg and cheese croissant looked good and my wife said it tasted good. The American coffe was good and it was a little irksome that the price for the shot of Bailey's was higher than that was on menu. Oh well.

Small but comfortable restaurant, make their own breads, natural juice and variety of breakfast options, the Benedictine eggs with salmon were very good. The portions are generous.

We had a great breakfast. Everything was amazing, we had Salmon Benedict and the traditional Eggs Benedict, both were excellent with small side salad the dressing was prefect. The potatoes were a little underwhelming for 12 hour process and the portion was small for $5.50. We would definitely go back! Their pastry counter was beautiful and smelled amazing.

This is the absolute top tier breakfast in Key West. Spectacular pastry, croissants, and bread. The kitchen here is lightning fast, and each plate comes out perfect. My friends loved their Benedict and American breakfast. The service here is fast as it gets - courteous, and attentive. I would argue this is one of the best operated cafe’s on the island. I am the first to admit I am not a breakfast person, but I am compelled to acknowledge a restaurant with a motivated kitchen team, and a staff that works hard to ensure a seamless customer experience.
