First, our server was bubbly and great personality. Just the restaurant did not seem to have its act together. Despite a 7:00 reservation for 2, confusion on where they should sit us. The confusion continued when I ordered a Vesper martini, my favorite. Not sure what I got, but not drinkable. When I then just asked for a classic martini which was on the menu, it took forever to get. Was told the martini classes were ‘hot'. I received it half way through my meal. It was good, but too late to really enjoy. Perhaps we caught them on an off night, but will not return.

La Trattoria Oceanside has historically been one of our top favorite places to dine in Key West for intimate occasions and with friends/groups. We looked forward to dining on Friday evening before heading to the symphony. We arrived for our 5:15pm reservation and were seated at one of our favorite tables - and the restaurant was very vacant - to be expected for the time. Our wait was friendly but seemed very distracted. Questions were answered with a lot of uhm's and hmmmmm's. He definitely worked to sell an appetizer & salad as we placed our order, and dessert at the end. Other than to take our order, one check when we called him over for more water and to talk about a dessert and immediately deliver the tab and pick it up, we never saw him. We had other staff deliver bread and take away our completed plates - no eye contact and little discussion other than, "are you done with this plate?" Disappointing. We always look forward to visiting with the wait, which is one aspect that we really enjoy. My husband ordered the yellowtail snapper. I ordered the chicken picatta. The grilled potatoes on both plates were very burned/charred on the bottoms, so only a portion of the potatoes were edible. We both agree, our experience fell short and we left a little disappointed. Now, restaurants have bad days, too. We will try again and hope for an experience like those from last "high season."

Arrived at our designated reservation at 7 p.m. We were seated immediately. The waiter, Sebastian came with water request and drink orders. We orders a bottle of Pellegrino and 2 dirty Martini's one with blue cheese olives and one with regular Olives. Our waiter brought us the Pellegrino and said we may want to go ahead and order as the bar was backed up. We shared an order of Escargot with mushroom cream sauce (very rich and we left over half of it) and I ordered the Hog Fish special and my wife got Angel Hair with Marinara and basil. The Escargot arrived but still no drinks. Literally, 40 minutes after we arrived we saw our waiter go running pass our table with two Martini glasses. We were informed the bar had just run out of Martini glasses and our waiter had two run two out from the dish washer. 50 minutes from arrival we received our drinks both of which were sporting the blue cheese olives. Our waiter corrected the olives and our meals arrived and were good. We asked for our check and sat their another 10 plus minutes to get our bill (which proudly included $36.00 for our 2 Martini's). Sebastian was apologetic about the it all and offered to forgo his tip. We would never do that. We paid and left and will not be back. My observation is there was no one of managerial authority in the front of the house. We finally got out at 9:10 and never saw anyone the entire 2 plus hour's but wait staff, the bartender and two young hostess's who spent most of their time bump dancing at the front desk. Sorry, we never complain but this one needs to know.

This restaurant has a good ambiance. It is away from downtown key west so we liked that it was a bit quieter. They have two locations and we tried the other location in the past and preferred this one by far. We ordered a salad to start and both got pasta dishes, spaghetti Norma and penne arrabbiata. Both were delicious! Service was exceptional. Would definitely return.

Great food, great service as always! We always eat here each time we visit Key West and are never disappointed. We always request an outdoor table. It's quiet outside and has a beautiful view.

Celebrating my wife's birthday in Key West and discovered LA Trattoria. Great choice. Excellent atmosphere and food was exceptional. Entire staff were great and our server, Chris was great. We will look forward to the next time.

A touch above the rest. Elegance and fantastic views of the ocean paint a perfect backdrop for this restaurant. The menu is a mirror of a NYC 5 star establishment. Our server guided us through the menu, answering questions about food preparation and tastes. La Trattoria is the jewel of Key West for upscale dining.

Our food was fantastic and our waiter was excellent. We are concerned about the noise level at this restaurant, they really need to put up acoustic tiles, it is very difficult to have conversations as the noise level is very high
Our waitress was friendly and professional however she did mix up our order. She gave us a complimentary glass of wine as compensation for the extended wait for the correct dishes we had ordered. The food was quite good but I was surprised at the wait from the kitchen on the mixed up order. We had a nice time and went away satisfied.

As usual the meal and service was outstanding.... We were there on Valentines Day.....so accommodating for my Dad ..... who is in a wheelchair. Just like eating in your own dinning room. They were very busy.... But they never make you feel rushed.....The steak was cooked to perfection! My Dad had the hogfish special.....he's 90 years old and ate every bite! Our favorite place in Key West! Thank you for another wonderful evening!
Given its reputation, we expected quality Italian food. The spaghetti bolognese had no flavor. The lasagna only had flavor because of the red pepper flakes. The beautiful view and excellent service kept the evening from being a total loss but we won't eat here again.
