DO NOT BELIEVE ONLINE BOOKING IF IT SAYS THEY ARE FULL - a quick call to the restaurant and we got a seat. It was not even half full. They apparently are having troubles with their online booking service.
Amazing food! I went with five people to Michael's for dinner and the food was outstanding along with the service. If you're in key west looking for an amazing filet or grouper, this place is a must. Also love the neighborhood the restaurant is set back in!
This place was good but not anymore! There were issues from start to finish. The worst of it was I ordered the filet mignon which was over cooked, tough and fatty. I have never had a more terrible quality piece of meat. The service was horrendous from a waiter that could barely speak English and had no clue about the menu and no customer service skills whatsoever. I could continue on but instead I just simply suggest staying away. When we told some local friends about our experience they all said that Michaels has serious issues going on and it's a good thing we didn't eat our entire meal because we would have probably gotten sick and that the restaurant is likely about to close for good.
Best service and food I've had in a long time!
Very pleasant staff and food was delicious and beautifully plated! A definite place to stop try!!
My husband and I really enjoyed our experience at Michael's. The food was delicious and service was excellent. Cliff was our waiter. He was friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive. We will definitely be back!
The service was outstanding and our meal was excellent. Everything from the French onion soup to the pork tenderloins was extremely delicious. Wife had scallops and blue crab wontons which were done perfectly. This was a great meal.
...and very accommodating wait staff. Very helpful with menu recommendations and suggestions to help us put together a great dinner.
Can't recommend Michael's or understand how it is considered a “ good spot “ for dinner. Food was poor, ambience is outdated, and service was fair. Dinner for 3 came was over $200 without tip . Very limited menu. Don't mind paying for a good meal , we wanted to feel my money was well spent....Not happening at this place.
We visited Key West for our 20th Anniversary and had enjoyed Michael's on a previous occasion. I checked “Anniversary” on the Open Table app but that was not acknowledged. Ordered a Caesar's Salad but it was warm and soggy. I was upset afterwards that I didn't send it back and actually paid for it and the rest of the meal as well. My filet was raw instead of medium rare and had to send it back. Vegetables were cold. The service was non-attentive and slow. I wasted 5,000 well earned Open Table Points on a $25 dining reward for a very mediocre meal. Very disappointed in the whole experience at Michael's on what should have been a special night.

My friend and I travelled in from Atlanta, GA and were looking for a place to have dinner. We chose Michael's based on all the amazing reviews on Opentable. And boy, we were we not disappointed! Our server Effren (spl?) and the owner/chef Michael went above and beyond in making sure we had a memorable experience. Everything was on point...from the attentive service, to the menu recommendations, to the quality and presentation of the food and drinks! We especially loved the Shrimp Parpadelle and Red Snapper. They also brought out birthday dessert with sparklers and sang to my friend. Price point was extremely reasonable. Loved the fact their entrees can be ordered in half sizes so you can taste a variety of options.(if you are hungry, coz the half portion is still a pretty good size)
I haven't been going because the food has been disappointing but I tried it again to see if it had improved. The food was very disappointing again. I'm done, I'll spend my money elsewhere.
We celebrated our 25th Anniversary in Key West and we're looking for a nice restaurant for dinner. Michaels did not disappoint! The service was impeccable, and the food was excellent. The best Key Lime Pie in Key West by our unofficial testing. Definitely would come back to Michaels the next time we come to Key West.
We went to Michaels for my husbands birthday and we had a wonderful meal. The host and hostess made us feel immediately welcome and Isabella was an excellent waitress. We had the beet and goat cheese salad , steak frites, snapper and warm chocolate lava cake for dessert. Everything we had was excellent !
Dinner at Michaels has always been an exceptional experience. We have been visiting for almost 20 years. The food and service keeps getting better. In addition to all of our routine favorites we tried carpaccio. This dish was totally out of our realm. Try this mouthwatering dish. It will also expand your pallet! Key Lime luscious with whip cream. Not overly sweetened. The best in Key West. Say hello to your tentative bartender Mike. Lovely fine dining. ENJOY!
