Super sad about this place I’ve been coming here for 35 years. Ric’s used to be so awesome great people working there that didn’t seem like they hate life. Everybody’s rude one of the bouncers assaulted me while I was just standing there. Manager did actually try to do something about it. But that place changed every Other bar seems the same Key West mentality, easy flowing and not rude. Ric was the only place that has hired rudest unhappiest people. They also cut the balconies off for parties and you can’t go sit wherever you want now so that’s annoying.

I grew up in Key West. Went to Reynolds , Glenn Archer, HOB And Key West High School . Paid to get in so my daughter could see the Conch drop. To be told after we in the balcony closed for private party. Too many places in Key West have sold out! I miss the old Key West I grew up in.

On 12-09-24 went to Ricks and the bouncer/security was the most rude and unprofessional person we have ever met in the whole keys. Busy on his phone, rudely interacted when I asked a simple question. " I don't answer questions" was his answer. Really? And you want customers to frequent your establishment? I'm sure pure drunks will. I would've spent some time and money there like I have before. Never again! That guy should be fired and sent on his rude way with his head in his phone. I guess competent AND friendly help is gard to find in the hospitality business.

The Sunday afternoon bartender Erin was wonderful. suggested different cocktails and made us feel welcome. The "musician" Adrian was trash. terrible. Lots of homophobic jokes. Was upset that people wanted to watch football on a Sunday, and said "you don't come to Key West to watch football". I didnt come here to listen to this hack either. just rude. and when people cheered for a touchdown, he just turned the volume up to piss people off. Do not recommend when this guy is playing.

Two bartenders on the first floor (ladies with long blond hair and dark hair) pictures are available - refused to serve us on October 22, 2024. We were a group of three girls, nicest and friendly, when we noticed that the bartenders are avoiding us. We have to ask a gentleman next to us to order a drink. When he asked one of them why she is not serving us directly, her redpond to HIM was because we are mean. Unbelievable. We traveled a lot but it never happened something like this. I asked to talk to the "manager", he arrived, I explained him that we would like to be served, he saw us that we were all good and polite and then again nothing happened. We understand that when people are intoxicated or violent or rude or making inappropriate comments, they should not be served, but in our case, we were totally good but still not served. I am very close to believing that this was a racial discrimination act that should never take place. We will consider taking appropriate steps if not resolved otherwise. We felt ignored, disrespected, and insulted.

Didn't ask for jello shots, were given jello shots anyway, upon dropping half of them, and not eating/drinking the other half and saying "Hey we think these are gross and didn't ask for these and really REALLY don't want them", we were promptly cashed out and asked to leave. Wow. That's crappy. Cool, at least we know what kind of bar this is now...
