The only reason to go here is if you are staying at the hotel. We stayed at the gates. We checked in late 8pm and wanted to get a bite to eat. The menu was super limited due to being later in the evening. We ordered chicken fingers and flatbread. The chicken fingers were burnt and the flat bread was moshi. The drinks were mediocre.

This place is awesome! So relaxed & if ur staying at the hotel it's next to the pool. The bartender Sean is extremely friendly and the decor is on point, see pics. Very reminiscent of the seafaring ways associated w Hemingway. So perfect . Awesome island music!

Ask for Steve! He makes a great mojito! He had us laughing all night. Great guy! The outdoor bar had a great vibe! Glad we came and we will definitely be back!

Thought this place would have more personality. It's off to the side of the hotel pool. Drabby atmosphere. 3 people at the bar. I was greeted quickly-asked for a casamigos margarita and it came in an unsalted plastic cup. Right off the bat I knew it wasn't made from scratch as it was served in like 30 seconds. To my strong disappointment it was a really bad mix. In my opinion it is so freaking easy to make a marg from scratch it is a disgrace to serve such a crappy drink in a tropical location. ESPECIALLY with a higher end tequila. I couldn't even finish it. No music other than generic music that was coming from the pool area. Bartender was nice, attentive-and redeemed the night by making me his favorite frozen rum drink. The key lime pie and added a great dark rum floater. The energy evolved as it got a little later and the vibe definitely got better.

Always a good time!! Scharm took great care of us during our stay. Live music was really a nice touch. We ordered food three separate times!! Delicious!!
Sean is the best! Just an all around good attitude, kind human. Great spot at the Gates Hotel, whether you are waiting for the shuttle, hanging by the pool or just want a cold drink and good company!
