Love this place! We've been to Key West several times and this is always my favorite bar for music and chilling later at night. The music they bring in is always excellent, the best in Key West.

We came for drinks and the music, so I cannot comment of the food, however, am still dreaming of the key lime coladas I had. The atmosphere is everything a relaxed and groovy outdoor Key West bar and restaurant should be. Our waiter was fantastic and friendly, the live music was so perfect and outdoor seating area spacious and comfortable….just an easy hangout here. Absolutely will be back!

Such a great place to hang out. Tony Baltimore is so good. If you can catch him....make a point to do so. Outdoor atmosphere and just relaxing. Will say....I won the unlucky lotto and had a bird crap in my beer. The waiter laughed and replaced with no issue. If you ever wanted to feel what it was like to be in a Kenny Chesney video....make this place a stop.

The fish and seafood are frozen, smelly trash cans everywhere. Couldn’t have been more disappointed and I was not expecting much, unless you are too intoxicated to care don’t bother. Went because it was promoted by Kenny Chesney on his Sirius channel, shame on you Kenny, promoting this place like a diamond in the rough, there is nothing special here. The view from the 2nd floor was not good, watched people turn over in their plastic chairs sitting down, someone will get hurt, not maintained at all. The atmosphere is more akin to a backwoods bait shack than a neighborhood ice house, ignore the hype.

Schooner Ward is a bit of old time Key West. We have been going to this place for nearly 30 years. It hardly changes. A few more tables and better seats plus more shade umbrellas but it’s so quaint and friendly. Usually live music and good munchies. Right on the old marina boardwalk. All outdoor seating.

My wife and I spent about three hours at this bar and initially had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was great, the drinks were good, and the live singer was honestly one of the most talented solo performers we’ve heard in a long time. For the first part of the day, the music and energy were outstanding.
Unfortunately, after the singer returned from a break, he began repeatedly making comments using the phrase “mentally retarded.” It wasn’t said once in passing it was referenced multiple times and in a way that felt very dismissive and offensive. At one point he even made it clear he didn’t care if people were offended.
For many people, including families who care deeply about individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, language like that isn’t just outdated, it’s hurtful. It completely changed the tone of what had otherwise been a great day.
We truly enjoyed the venue and the music itself, which makes this even more disappointing. I hope management is aware of what was said and takes it seriously, because the establishment deserves to be known for great entertainment, not for language that alienates or disrespects members of the community!
