Unfortunately the seaweed had come in and was pulled up on the beach, so the stench took away from the ambiance. Plus there was a large party who thought the entire place was theirs. Food on the other hand was really good. Would come back when the seaweed isn't so bad
So disappointed, the calamari was so rubbery, my Cesar salad was really disappointing, the view was nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful, but the food was really disappointing
Food was fine. Service excellent. Price very reasonable. The cafe overlooks a beach that was being landscaped and there was a mild stench coming from the mud. Otherwise, the ambiance was fine- including the roosters walking around waiting for table scraps. Would go again without hesitation.
Fantastic food! Service lacked a little in friendly-ness. The beach was COVERED in grass which emitted an awful odor. We got used to it and powered through. But I'd call ahead to inquire about the beach before committing to a reservation.
Good food and service. The restaurant is on the south beach which was partly covered with a foot or more of very stinky sargassum. The stench is very bad and ruins the dinning experience. I wouldn't eat there until the sargassum is removed and the beach is kept clean.
Good food, good atmosphere, convenient location if you're staying at the hotel! There was never really a wait time and every seat in the house has a good view. Would eat here again!
Our waiter Brandon, took our order and brought the check. That is all. Other staff brought out boxes. I had to get my own salt and pepper. Our drinks were never refilled or even offered a refill. The med rare steak was overcooked to medium well. And we had a pigeon on our table while we were eating.
We always order the lobster pizza which is delicious. One is enough for two to share. I do however always order the conch fritters which also are delicious.
We recently dined at the Southern Beach Cafe and were thoroughly impressed with the food. The Seafood Paella dish for two was expertly prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented, it was truly a highlight. The staff was attentive, elevating the overall experience. However, the atmosphere took a hit due to unpleasant graffiti on the outdoor view, which detracted from the ambiance. Some indoor areas could also use a fresh coat of paint to brighten things up. Additionally, the bathrooms were underwhelming and could benefit from significant upgrades to match the quality of the dining experience. Despite these issues, the exceptional cuisine makes this spot worth visiting, and I hope these aesthetic and facility concerns are addressed to complement the stellar food.
The only reason to go here is for the view, food is overpriced and there are much better places to eat.

Great outdoor seating area that was pretty spacious and had great views of the bay. We had four different entrees and all were tasteful and prepared as well as any I've seen in my fifty years of dinning!
We had a wonderful spirit filled waiter - Everth! The food was fresh, cooked to perfection. My husband had seafood diavolo, which could have contained a little more seafood - only 2 clams. I had the lobster tail, cooked perfectly and a side of crispy asparagus. Since it was our 50th wedding anniversary, Everth brought us a piece of key lime pie with 2 candles on. We also shared a bottle of Da Vinci chianti! It was a beautiful evening with a view of the water.
Wind blowing hard that day and whipping into restaurant making ambiance a little less desirable.
Very nice dinner, beautiful beachfront view, did not feel rushed. Good drinks and excellent food. Highly recommend the conch fritters and pistachio crusted pork loin.
Food is always fabulous at this beach Cafe!
