I've been here several times and always enjoy the food, atmosphere, and service. I recommend trying the juice, especially the carrot and apple. Several different options to cover all dietary needs.

I’ve been to The Cafe several times over the past few years while visiting my daughter in Key West. As a vegan, I appreciate having options, and in the past I’ve enjoyed their juices, salad with blackened tofu and the spinach gyoza dumplings.
On this visit, I asked whether they could make a pizza both gluten-free and vegan and was happy to hear that it was possible. Unfortunately, the pizza was very undercooked, with unmelted vegan cheese and a doughy, sticky crust. While I was able to eat some of the vegetables on top, the pizza itself was largely inedible and a significant disappointment.
I share this simply to note that I would not recommend the gluten-free/vegan pizza option based on this experience.

Cute, funky decor that creates a bohemian, tropical, organic feel to the atmosphere. Maybe it’s a Key West thing or just a The Cafe thing but our waitress was PHENOMENAL! Her smile, good attitude, and general happiness is contagious and most welcomed!
The food was also a big hit with our entire party that dined for lunch. Vegan and non-vegan alike raved about their meals. The watermelon juice is the thing dreams are made out of. It’s been over a week and I’m still thinking about it. HIGHLY recommend trying it.
The famous vegan burger was impressive by texture, freshness, and taste. It’s probably the meatiest meat-free burger I’ve had that doesn’t have any of the ultra processed crap Beyond or Impossible burgers use. Also the low key winner is the bean salad that comes with a lot of the meals. Wasn’t sure what to expect but it’s BIG flavor. Just delicious!
Of course we couldn’t end the meal there so we ordered dessert. Vegan carrot cake, umm, yes please! Decadent cream cheese frosting followed waves of warmth from the spiced cake. Enjoyable from the first down to the very last bite. Also highly recommend.
If you’re in Key West I highly recommend dropping by The Cafe for a memorable and enjoyable meal! You won’t be disappointed!

This place truly feels like home every time I come here.
Whenever I’m in Key West, I always make a point to stop by The Cafe, and it never disappoints. I remembered Juan from my last visit, and once again he took amazing care of me.
I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it was absolutely fabulous — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Juan let me know that the chef prepared it extra special, which I genuinely loved. Those thoughtful touches make all the difference.
And let’s be honest — Juan is extremely handsome, warm, and welcoming, with great energy that makes you feel instantly comfortable. Consistently great food, incredible service, and that feeling that you’re always welcome back.
I’ll definitely be back — again and again.

Perfect spot for vegans and non vegans! The service was great, servers were so friendly. The food was so good too. I am the only vegan in my family and they’re often skeptical about going to plant based spots but they loved it here. It’s the perfect mix of vegan friendly options and other options. I had the meatball sub with vegan cheese an the carrot cake. Both were so good. Would recommend!

We were in Key West for 4 days, we went and had lunch at The Cafe on our second day and came back on our last day for lunch again as we had clearly enjoyed it the first time and we both felt like there was many other options on the menu we wanted to explore!

We had the kindest most attentive service I think I may have ever had at a restaurant, here. The key lime sangria was homemade and delicious. All of the food was terrific and it was a wonderful choice for our group of six with a mix of dietary restrictions, allergies, and vegetarianism. There was something for literally everyone, and everything about it was warm, friendly, and welcoming. 10 out of 5 stars

The food and atmosphere were really good. Unfortunately, the billing spoiled the experience. A mandatory 20% gratuity was added to the bill without being disclosed anywhere, and we were still prompted to leave an additional tip. On top of that, an extra ~4% credit card surcharge was added, which only appeared on the final bill after our card was swiped, so we saw it only later on. There was no advance notice of this fee. Had we known, we could have paid with cash or a debit card. These hidden, undisclosed charges took away from what otherwise would have been a very good experience.
