Sunset Lounge Bar - Military Base - Authorized Patrons Only

This place has so much potential. The atmosphere is beautiful. The bartender may have been the most miserable one I have ever encountered. Kind of ironic, if you’re in that kind of position. It was as if it was painful for her to take peoples’ orders and be there. The menu is extremely cheap pricing, bar foods, very good, ours took three hours to come out because the printer jammed. The young guy in the kitchen was doing his best as a new employee, he was extremely pleasant and kind.

The Sunset Lounge Bar & Grill gets an overall score of 5/5 and 5 stars in every category from me! First time experience and will not be our last. Their food is great, prices are awesome and affordable, plenty of seating and a cool view of the ocean. The staff was absolutely the best! I believe that they have live bands every Friday, too!

We only stopped here for drinks, not food, but they were 4-star delicious! The atmosphere is so nice, and of course, being an MWR facility, the prices were much lower than off post. We’re planning to stay at the Lodge here on our next trip down, so I expect we’ll visit the bar many times.

Nice to have a spot like this on base to grab a drink and a bite.

The nachos are definitely not worth the money, what they call salsa is diced tomatoes, it has sprinkle cheese melted in a microwave, a few jalapeños and a small amount of beef. Not what you expect of nachos, the shrimp was over cooked and fries were super salty and soggy. I ended up throwing my food away. .

Beware: If you are not Military Personnel or within the Military Realm, you cannot come here. If you go anyway and get busted, a hefty fine will be imposed.It's a shame because the place seems awesome and they could do a invite-only model on slow days via invite only but who am I to suggest that... They should know that a calm place with a precise point of view of Key West sunset is a hard task...Other than that, I hope the reader of this review has a great stay in Key West!
