Could a place in the middle of nowhere have amazing, authentic Cuban food?? YES!! The owner is a gem, and you can tell she makes everything with love!!! You are always a little hesitant going to a place like this because you aren't sure what you will find, but this is absolutely worth it! Everything was absolutely on point, and a good portion size

Myyyyyy goodness, was this place delicious! My parents, toddler, and I came here for lunch as we were passing through town, and we had the most incredible lunch. I got the ropa vieja with yellow rice, black beans, and tostones, and everything was absolutely delicious. The beef was lean and tender and beautifully seasoned. We met Maggie, the owner, and she is a delight! So kind, so friendly, such incredible service! The highchair was pristine, and Maggie brought out a paper plate with divider sections and a spoon for my little one, which was so thoughtful and helpful. We got pastries to go — we tried both the coconut and guava/cream cheese and they were served warm. The pastries were everything we wanted them to be. We all love Cuban food, and this stuff was some of the best we’ve had. Go. Eat. Enjoy. You won’t be disappointed!

Excellent breakfast! I also had a great conversation with the owners and I can tell they truly care about the community ?

As soon as you walk in there is a feeling that you are at home with family! This is a true family run business based on traditional home cooked Latin food. I absolutely love this place and so glad Lake City has a true Latin restaurant. If you love Latin food, this is the place.

We were staying at spirit of the Suwannee park and wanted some place to eat on our way back to Jacksonville. Thanks to Yelp we found this gem. You seriously wouldn't just stumble onto Maggie's as it is a little off the beaten path. It was delicious. I love a Cuban sandwich. They had a media noche, which is tougher to find. I'm guessing the bread is harder to get your hands as opposed to the traditional Cuban bread but I'm not 100% sure. It was delicious. My husband got a sandwich with ham and croquettes. I can't remember the name of it...but yummy! The sandwiches came with chips but we opted to pay more and get fries and maduros. The fries were run of the mill. The maduros were outstanding. My only recommendation would be that they provide some options with pricing for upgrades on the menu or the wall so you can choose to pay to upgrade your side because I imagine many people would. It would generate a little extra revenue if people were given the option and I imagine most would rather try something different. We will most definitely go back if we are in lake city. Thanks for the delicious lunch.

I was lucky enough that this place fell on my route when headed north out of Gainesville. I had the Cuban sandwich (at 9:30 am!) and it was outstanding. I actually do Cuban sandwich reviews for fun (link below if you are bored and if it works through Google Reviews), and this one ranks up there for sure. Super friendly in there and cool environment. A gem!youtu.be/kyvRAmsFwoU?si=…

The driest Cuban sandwich I’ve ever eaten! This was my 2nd attempt at giving this place a chance. Never again! Very disappointed!

My brother and I live far from Lake City, we come to visit our father as often as possiblewho lives in Wellborn. We generally dont come this far unto Lake City. Today we were hungry and Googled restaurants and found Maggie's Latin Restaurant. They closing in 15 minutes, so we felt a little bad about showing up right before closing. The owner and staff were super friendly, the place is quaint and charming. The food was absolutely delicious. If you're in the area or even traveling the interstate its worth stopping and eating at this little gem. I'm so glad we found it, and I'll definitely be back. I'd come again tomorrow if I could bit They aren't open on weekends. Make this a must have if you're in Lake City.

This time around I ordered the bistec de pollo and onions with yellow rice, black beans, fried yuca, mango shake, couple of Mexican cokes, and an iced Cuban coffee w/ caramel. I've tried many items on the menu and Maggie's fantastic staff have yet to disappoint. I love the atmosphere and the people are always so friendly and full of conversation if you've got a moment while you wait. My first trip here they were actually closed but Maggie and the crew insisted to opened the kitchen to make me hands down the best Cuban sandwich in all of North Florida. I recommend Maggie's Place to anyone with an empty stomach or if you're just looking to please your taste buds. Thank you Adam Starling for suggesting them to me.

Since moving from Nashville TN I was looking for a place to go to get Spanish food. Someone at the hospital where I work told me about Maggie's so I thought ok I will try it out and was really looking forward to it. But I was very disappointed the prices were a little high for what I got. The food was not what I was expecting. Got my sister a dinner that landed in the trash she couldn't eat it. I ate very little of what I got. Was very disappointed in this place. Will not go back. But I'm happy to finally find a place to go that had excellent food right down the road from where I live. Two Cuban's and a guy in lake City on hwy 90.
