It’s been awhile since ordering from Russo’s as money is tight. We decided to treat ourselves and were so disappointed to receive sandwich with ham, BOLOGNA?, lettuce, tomato and cheese etc. Not salami but bologna which kills my stomach! I’ve never been so dissatisfied!

The subs are great always have been but the store on military Trail is disgusting Where we eat look up at the acoustical ceiling in the dining room. He’s never changed the acoustical ceiling tiles out they are damaged by water and mold look at the wallpaper it’s all peeling dur the mold look at all the window wood returns they never been painted here I’m sure since he purchased this building many years ago he’s done nothing when you really look around the place is disgusting needs painting and I’m repeating myself the acoustical ceiling tiles are full of water damaged and mold for years And would think with the money he has made he could take care of this. I wonder what the back of the restaurant looks like we’re all the food is prepped it was like a front run For the establishment that’s been around for 50 years he’s neglected this that’s sad

Weird, very very weird. The positives for this establishment are that the bread is fresh and the veggies were fresh and vibrant in color. Overall though it was an odd experience, and the favorable Yelp reviews appear to be the product of loyal and often generational customers. The one complaint I often saw that did not ring true pertained to the service, nothing wrong here I don't know what these particular people are complaining about. Details: 1. They make you put on your own condiments, all of them including oil and vinegar. This may be chalked up to most of their orders being take home vs eaten on the go and in-house. 2. The "salami" in the "Russo" is more like a bologna and unlike typical salami. It might actually be a low-grade mortadella, not sure. 3. The have ham, turkey, and the unidentifiable "salami" and that's it. The only other option is a meatball sub. 4. The bread may or may not be made in-house. If it is, it is nothing more than basic commercial yeast baked in an industrial fashion. I would honestly be surprised if it isn't actually coming from an industrial bakery. It is nothing more than highly refined white flour and low grade commercial yeast.
