We come here a lot of Sundays for laid back dining. We love the atmosphere. Our kids love it . There's a seperate bar area for the adults. Their meatball subs and coleslaw are delicious.
North of Lake Wales on Florida 17 lies an old Florida Roadhouse called Al's Place. Since Ruby likes Chili dogs and we were in the area, we stopped in. It doesn't look like much from the outside, and the inside is decorated with historic front pages of famous events. A group of regulars were at the unique elephant table. Ruby had a regular chili dog, I had a slaw dog and a sauerkraut dog. We shared an order of onion rings. I had 2 mugs of draft beer, and Ruby had ice...
Had to stop in and check out their breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. Marilyn and I both got one and it was pretty good. This comes with french fries but we also got some onion rings and some coleslaw. You just have to be aware this is cash only no credit cards. The waitress was really nice and took good care of us.
