I ordered a gyro with small Greek salad ($15) and a pork souvlaki sandwich ($10) made into a basket ($6) which is supposed to fries and coleslaw. The food tasted decently. But the portions were pretty small compared to cost. We also did not receive the coleslaw. Paid $40 with tip for two people's lunch. They also up charge for paying with a card.
I work nearby, and really had a craving for a gyro. The reviews looked promising so I decided to stop by. The staff were really friendly, the place is a little outdated..but appeared clean enough. The Gyro was hands down one of the best I’ve had, but the fries tasted freezer burnt and had absolutely no seasoning or salt whatsoever. I paid about 17-18$ for a gyro and hand full of fries/ can’t say it was worth it.
While at a local pharmacy on Ariana Street, I asked the pharmacist to recommend a good place for lunch and he said the Athenian Restaurant, located across the street in the Central Park Plaza. The restaurant’s address is 1215 Ariana Street, in Lakeland and it can be found at the extreme east end of the strip mall. Open from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. This is a relatively small restaurant.
