It's was our first time visiting Owen's on university parkway. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. The food is 10 out of 10. I highly recommend the ceviche! It was incredible. Their cocktail sauce is hands down the best I've ever had.

They accommodated our large party well, and the outdoor “backyard” area is a great spot to hang out while you wait.
Loved the oysters (both at backyard bar and Rockefeller on the menu), and the Fish and Chips were excellent—huge portion of fish with tasty Old Bay fries. The Crispy Captain’s Platter was solid too, and service was great.
Our whole party agreed however, the the only downside was that dishes were on the overly salty side, but overall a great experience and we’d definitely return.

The Owens fish camp in Burns Court is a hundred times better. If you've been to the one there, you'll be disappointed in Lakewood ranch!!

as Florida LOCAL. and foodoligist . place is 5 star . its LOCAL OWEND! NOT SOME RUN MILL FRANCIHISE . all way through top notch .from casual atmosphere to the decore.Florida feel.inside seating huge bar for sitting lot out side seating..mini golf .outdoor bar .electric rc boats play with in pond .staff excellent. and food was on point Fresh
frome smoked fish dip . lopster cobb salad.filet lopster. seafood jumbolia red sauce ..and linguine clams was delicious and keylime pie was next level with fresh cream on top .pecan pie pretty tasty also.
they also do brunch on Saturday and Sundays 10 to 2

So delicious, best fish and chips I've had ever!! The fish was 1 giant piece, but in my opinion it was the equivalent to 4 regular sized fish strips. It was so much food. The coleslaw was so good too! There was live music going on, we sat outside. Very friendly staff with cool decor and lights.

We have been to the one on Burns Court and literally stumbled upon this location the other night and were so glad we did! Same great food, very fresh and not the same selections as every other seafood restaurant. The atmosphere is very nice and larger than the other location which means they are able to accommodate more guests. As far as the staff, AMAZING! Our waiter was Jhonathan (yes, that is spelled correctly), and he blew us away with his explanation of the menu and suggestions! He had so much passion and knowledge and lead us in a way we probably wouldn’t have gone, but we’re SO GLAD WE DID! One of the best wait staff we have ever had and we are true foodies and eat out constantly twice a week. We had already settled up our bill when we saw amazing desserts going out to another table. We flagged down that waitress (didn’t catch her name) and she described in great detail all of the desserts not just answered our question quickly like we expected. Mind you, she was not getting anything out of standing there giving us that attention and yet she did. The passion of the staff at this place is “top shelf”. We have eaten at many 5 star, high end restaurants and have not had as good of an experience as we did at Owen’s Lakewood Ranch! And did I mention the portion sizes?! Fantastic! Can’t say enough! We WILL be back and OFTEN, I might add!

Best fish in Sarasota with the best variety. Staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere and decoration is different than the original Owens because it's new. The bar area is especially pretty.

This was our first time here, we usually go to the Owens downtown. This spot at Lakewood Ranch feels more open, I liked the atmosphere better. The food is equally delicious as the downtown location. Parking was so easy. Good job! We will be back.

I had the blackened red snapper with their tasty grits and garlicky green beans. It was very tasty. Everyone else in our party of five enjoyed their meals and the server was attentive to our needs.
After a one hour wait…. We “lucked” out and got a picnic table! Ugh! I’m sorry but for the price we paid for our so so meals and long wait for drinks and food, sitting in a picnic table just does not weigh out! Please give your patrons comfort, picnic tables our for $5 hotdogs, not $17 drinks & $40 meals!
